I've got some old localized anime vhs i'm digitizing. Should I keep the ads in or leave them out?
>>1541764When I was a kid, my mom had a VHS, and my dad asked her to tape the St seiya anime (it was on the local tv), and she was asked to remove the ads whenever they were shown, but you could see the tape with small amounts of ads on it (it was the toys of the same cartoon show), my dad got pretty annoyed because of that and beat my mom. I'd say it'd be probably better to keep it without ads. Maybe save those ads in separate files if you wanna keep them too.
you could release both versions
>>1541768Uh... okay.>>1541783I could. My main concern is that filesize is going to stay the same even if I remove the ads. I'm using Da Vinci Resolve but maybe there's a better video trimmer that actually reduces the filesize.
>>1541764Keep them. There would already be HQ rips of whatever you have so the only reason one would want watch yours would be for some nostalgia reason.
>>1541791Sounds like we have a lossy, lossy boy here!I'd say keep the ads separate, but include them in whatever release as a bonus, because they have cultural and nostalgic value as well.
