Hi, I was wondering if The Pirate Bay is still safe to use in 2025. If not, what are some good alternatives that won’t risk giving me viruses or malware? Thanks
>>1542037It works fine, I use all the time, just make sure to read comments and manually check the torrent filelist, and uncheck any .bat or .exe .html etc. to avoid downloading it. most people use 1337x for movies, soulseek for music and rutracker for rare software, there's also btdig.com that usually has more old or rare stuff but not that many seeds.

ThanksIt never was, it always is a roll of the dice, just like any piracy, it requires understanding some level of cyber security techniques like running it in a vm, using things like virustotal and more to know for sure there isn't something inside you don't want. And also depends what you are getting, REAL image, music and video files are typically safe. ROMs of games are also typically safe PDFs you should watch out and EXEs are a giant nope don't run that on bare metal.

I recommend avoiding 1337 and Pirate Bay and going for dedicated sites per category simply because there will be more activity on each torrent for more seeds and more eyes on individual torrents. Looking at the number of seeders on TBP, it sucks, most people abandoned it. I'd only go there as a last resort.movies + TV >https://yts.mx/games>https://fitgirl-repacks.site/ >igg-games.com
