I had a few questions regarding step voltage Transformers

I have a blu ray Player that is rated at 43 watt

The step down Transformer i have (pic) has 300 watt. Wil it used that much or only as much the blu ray Player needs?

Is a Transformer like this safe for standby mode of the player (0,42 or so watt)?

Is it safe enough to simply connect the player with pin connection the has a grounding pin at the top and not worry about the Transformer ever burning/shorting out?

Did you not understand why you need a step down transformer when you bought it?
It's rated as 300 watts as the maximum amount of watts it will deliver, you can connect anything less than that. If you're terrified that'll somehow destroy something that consumes less, simply attach a 60 watt light bulb and see if it's the usual brightness or if it explodes
