So I'm taking discrete mathematics next semester and I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some insight. So like is it hard? And are there any yt channels that I could use or any sites? This is gonna be the first time I'm taking discrete mathematics so I'd like to know if there are anything I should keep in mind?
It deals with a lot of proofs as well as algorithms. They're fairly straightforward, but only if you know the logical components of said proof, so to speak. Just read whatever's assigned to you and do its problem sets diligently. It'll likely be Rosen. There's probably some information on what books are used on your school's website. They're all the same (more or less--varying levels of terseness, maybe rigor and concepts explored too). This applies to all courses you take--Maths courses in particular--but do yourself the favor of not slacking off. The coursework will snowball into a huge mess come the end of the semester otherwise. Honestly, just read the book and attend lecture afterwards. Too many faggots make the mistake of believing it's the lecturer's obligation to make them learn the material.

And while I can understand why they might feel like the professor is "obligated" to teach the material thoroughly with the lectures, the reality is that the profs don't give a single shit. But what annoys me personally is when they'll add stuff they never went over "in class" on a test, but yet again they expect you to know. Since they can give less of a fuck. But in other words you're right about that
>>1555013I have a bachelors in math. Discrete math is one of the easiest classes. The only pitfall you need to watch out for is getting lazy with it, which you may be tempted to do after the first couple of classes because they are so simple. But, as with any class, the material eventually piles up and you will get behind if you don’t treat it with basic diligence.
