Then this thread is not for you. It is for people who recognize they have an issue and would like to get better.
>I don't want to tell other people about this.
That's your choice, but accountability is hugely helpful to any recovering addict; harmful behavior thrives in secrecy.

There are dozens of other threads on /adv/ for that, you can "tfw no gf" elsewhere

Slipped up yesterday after going for nearly two weeks. Back on the wagon. Although I don't really think once every two weeks is bad, but I don't think it helps either.
>>

Started 3 days ago. Took a firm decision to quit porn for good and feel great so far. It gives me a feeling of liberty and self worth. Haven't been too bothered by coomer thoughts, although interacting with hot girls is kind of a trigger.
>>
What's up with the shills on the board for the icd-11 that slammed porn addiction as non-existant, even though there is evidence of it's detrimental effects?
Also noticed the wikipedia article on porn addiction goes on for several paragraphs talking about the term being unscientific and even failing to cite sources in doing so.

just going through the studies in op

1> most of those are social psychology or adjacent, huge replication crisis, results are interesting but preliminary

2> within that, a lot of those studies aren't even that great as preliminaries. for instance the second study

>yes, good goy, keep tugging your worm to 4k triple anal penetration porn, it's beneficial to you.
Who the fuck cares if some retard decides to spout bullshit like "well ackshually porn addiction is not real, doctor goldberg told me so!". If you are so sheep brained that these kind of statements have any influence on you deciding to continue to watch porn then you might as well do it you fucking lobotomite.

Life doesn't matter anymore and it has become very obvious everywhere you go.
You can feel it when you are out in public, no one gives a fuck about anything anymore. Even normies are blackpilled husks now.
I go to work and basically just do nothing. I don't give a shit if they fire me, it literally doesn't matter at this point. I'm poor if I'm NEETing and poor if I work full time. This society is pointless.
No community, no property, no families, no future. Where the fuck do we even go from here?

wat
never met a normie depressed husk

addiction to things that aren't literally drugs bonding to receptors in your brain is a Dr. Goldberg concept to begin with. the instant you mention food addiction, porn addiction etc. you are already falling for bullshit that doesn't exist

So gambling addiction does not exist either?

How about all those kids who are glued to their ipads from the age of 3 and end up throwing a shit fit if someone takes it away from them? Sure as hell seems like an addiction to me.
>>

>So gambling addiction does not exist either?
correct

>How about all those kids who are glued to their ipads from the age of 3 and end up throwing a shit fit if someone takes it away from them? Sure as hell seems like an addiction to me.
lmao "shit fit"

they didn't get dt shakes, their temperature doesn't change, they don't vomit. they're a bit cranky for a while and move on. that's 100% not addiction.
>>
>>31109826
What's the point of splitting hairs when talking about something like porn addiction? If you are gooning to sissy hypno all day (like 90% of the people on /gif/), you are a dog, your life is basically gone. Doesn't matter if you don't get the shakes when you're jonesing it's still going to fuck your life the same.

Things that have helped me. I've relapsed a lot but when I was on my longest streak (many months) this is what helped

1. Keep your phone out of your bed room. I charged it downstairs. Read before bed
2. Cut all sugar. Cravings for porn went to basically zero after doing this. Your gut and brain are heavily linked
3. Stay active, working out hard is ideal but even just a walk a day can help
4. You need to fill the void. Whether that's with working longer hours, doing video games, art, more time with friends, something
5. If you are religious, praying can help

Good luck all. The best I've ever felt has been when I thought I had beat this sick addition. People (women included) and animals were drawn to me, you almost have this aura and confidence that draws people in. So many benefits to quitting

There's nothing wrong with porn if you're an incel.

Physical dependency is not to be conflated with addiction. Some substance addictions come with a physical dependency, many don't and won't elicit physical withdrawal symptoms if layed off. I dare to say that the physical part of addiction is a joke compared to the psychological aspect. Sure withdrawal is dangerous for some drugs like alcohol and benzos, but once you are through with it your body goes back to baseline relatively quickly. It's the psychological aspect, the hole the addiction leaves in someones life, that makes them go back to using. That's what makes addiction so dangerous, not the shivers you get from abstaining for 12 hours. It's the fact that you keep coming back to it and neglect other areas of your life.

quit a year ago by reading the easypeasy way.
>>
>>31113064
I didn't read it, I listened to the audio book for it and it didn't really do anything for me.
>>
For me the act of not tugging my dick is easy to follow. It’s the compulsion to peek at all the sluts I used to shoot ropes to that gets me. It’s the excessive fantasizing that holds me hostage. I want to keep looking but I don’t feel a strong urge to actually fap. I think I’m just hooked on dopamine.
>>
>>31113064
>>31114557
It only works if you follow it. And the advice in the book is pretty simple: "don't look at porn". I read it and actually did well for maybe 4 months. Not doing as good now, but still doing better. I guess I have fallen into casual user referenced in the book. I can do better.
>>
>>31109442
maybe call it quit porn general instead of rousing the shills from calling it 'porn addiction'. I like how when it gets bumped it goes next to thread that tells you how to get laid.

do fetishes subside over time? I'm too into femdom and the humiliation part is negatively affecting my self esteem pretty heavily.
>>
>>31116311
Are you watching porn still? Or having sexual encounters with dominant females or what? I'm not sure about the fetish subsiding, but since I quit watching porn I don't feel bothered by lowered self esteem due to humiliating porn anymore. Felt much securer the last time I had sex, which was the second time I had after quitting porn.

Rubbing one out right now.

That made everyone here less horny. Doing God's work, anon.
>>
I dont think im addicted but sometimes i'd rather just jack off than do some other activity. I do it only maybe once every one or two weeks though, but I make it last hours, partly because i think it is training for lasting longer should i ever have sex. But sometimes it hurts if i make it last too long. Also do it to help me sleep if i need it. The cleanup is too much of a hassle to do it all the time like when I was a teen
