im so tempted to sell but i shouldn't at this point. its already down 5% from peak and the drop is slowing down. it can't go all the way until interest rates go down right? and a small war in the middle east is good for economy if anything.

this whole article is the equivalent of there being a nuclear disaster, and the politician comes out on stage and says
"There is nothing to worry about the nuclear plant leaking radiation last week. It was just a minor leak - I know you're all scared that the radiation got into your water supply, onto your crops, that all of your lives were shortened by this failure, that you are afraid for us to start the plant back up. You all worry that your bones are now permanently radiated, similar to how people were after the nuclear tests in the Pacific ocean world wide. Let me assure you, that you are perfectly fine."

In this case, the best news would be Israel and Iran both making statements that they aren't considering any further action, or something to that effect.
That would hopefully cause a dip in oil and a market wide pump.
Regardless, I got fucking gaped today. Down 35k.
>>
>>58417739
Iran played it down, it's clear they don't want to escalate. If the market is down because of this then the market is retarded.
>>
>>58417717
I took a small SOXL position a few minutes ago. I plan to DCA over the next few weeks but my bet is that everything will rocket to spite me for not taking a bigger risk.
>>
>>58417742
I think its also just a dump that the market has been working up to for weeks. This NVDA dump is huge and one this large hasn't happened since September of 2022, when the entire market was shitting its pants due to fed rates. NVDA shed more than the ENTIRE MARKET CAP of AMD today.
This is going to burn me, but I just cannot fathom a world where this kind of dump happens and we don't see a rebound next week. I'm not saying its a full blown V, but you would think after such a massive drop that there's at least SOME appetite to buy.
>>
>>58417717
Friday is sell off day anyway but I also think the market is overreacting to the "literally no news" in the middle east.
>>
>The weekly market-cap losses for the Magnificent Seven in aggregate are steeper than the record $872 billion set in January 2022, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
Jesus fuck, so this week is WORSE than the absolute fucking freakout we had back then due to rates.

Bought NVIDIA at 940, so I'm clearly sour about this whole thing, but I still think the sector will keep growing long term and NVIDIA isn't really threatened at the top.
Sort of think I will have to hold for 6 months to break even, and even at that it's a loss since the money was just stagnant.

Long term I want to shift over to AMD since I think they can get 10-20% of the market, so they are almost certainly greatly undervalued.
Still I'm new to this so I may be completely wrong.

There's not much to read into this.
Just like weedstocks were overpriced a few years ago, these chip makers are hilariously overpriced and the earnings and demand are much lower than the valuations imply.
>>
>>58418062
SMCI makes servers that uses Nvidia chips. It was just riding the AI hype. Companies won't be buying new AI hardware every year as it's a huge investment. They would have to make major progress whatever they're using AI for to justify upgrading.

news (forgor to update, also hit with changing ip ban):
>CCJ earnings report on 30th april for q1
>CCJ shareholder meeting 9th may (board recommends vote "for" on all)
>GEV earnings report on 25th april for q1

nuclear energy play to wagmi:
>spot uranium prices new bottom is around 70$/lb (was 30$/lb pre 2021)
>taxonomy changes to maybe classify uranium as green energy alongside wind and solar etc.
>more funding overall secured if so
>china moving into nuclear to meet domestic energy demand
>largest producer kazatomprom warned that they may not be able be at full production capacity (lack of sulphuric acid), leading to constricting existing and future supply on rising demand
>due to geopolitical tensions the west is looking to expand domestic production of uranium and boost nuclear energy production

>france example state where about 60% of energy needs baseload is nuclear
>many mines dormant and can be restarted any time to resume production

relevant tickers (long term, youre in it until 2030 at least):
>CCJ (US/canada) (second largest producer and with KAP they have contracts with china)
>KAP (Kazakhstan) (largest producer)
>UUUU (US) (large stockpile of uranium and rare earth minerals mining ops, big potential manufacturer)
>UEC (same with uuuu, well positioned for home demand and export contracts)
>GEV (US) (due to recent company spin-off, GE investors are better positioned to capitalize on nuclear than previously, not a pure uranium play)
bonus pick: Boss Energy and Paladin Energy in Australia, Curtiss-Wright and Westinghouse (small exposure to nuclear, dyor)

notable risks:
>spot price volatility
>aging nuclear fleet
>long time to set up a mine or new NPP (double edged sword)
>regulatory risk
>"climate activist" protests

Working at a power plant myself nuclear is a good idea but too complicated for your average operating engineer it would take decades to get a properly trained workforce in mass to operate them and wages for those engineers would have to triple which corporations would never approve.
>>
>>58419850
I’ve been slurping them during dips ever since the Rook I project got provincial approval and the massive scope of their urn findings really blew me away. I heard NXE’s ceo Leigh Curyer on the nuclear news podcast and at this investor meeting https://youtu.be/bU1cELSrk-w?si=PntnwKTZNSDLVn61 over the last month and he really seems like somebody who wants to take his time and do this project right. somebody more technically adept can weigh in on the stage of Rook but considering a) the very risk averse leaf govt seems to playing along and b) Curyer doesnt set off my bs detector, imho it is a good
medium/longterm play. (not advice just my own subjective read on NXE)

>>
>>58419865
cant speak about training engineers and employees at a plant. its not information i have uncovered so far, but sure, it admittedly needs to be kept in mind. however id say the far bigger risk is building the fucking thing. on average construction estimates say like 5 years build time tops with like 5$ billion in funding max (for power plants) and then they go ahead and need triple the funding and time. that has been the norm for the entire history of commercial npps. which is also why modular reactors aee so sought after, among other things. thats why those relatively more risk averse should focus on companies that already have existing nuclear fleets.

I don't see it going out with a bang but I don't see it or META ever reaching their zenith either. The charismatic leader model their based upon has become largely old-hat in the tech sector and they're both effectively dinosaurs who are increasingly going to have to chase value money without a dividend.

Alphabet is another example where it's become largely rudderless and removed investment in the kinds of innovation that allowed it to be a quasi-public utility. Then LLMs arrived and ate its lunch.

thats literally how acquisitions go. listen to their investor call, at least first 20 mins and follow along with the respective presentation. they essentially bought an ace management and execution team and a potentially 2 billion dollar worth mine for about 300 million dollars. couple that with cornering the ree market in the west along with vertical integration all one needs to do is buy and hold. reason why the price dropped for uuuu is because nominally they lost about 330 million in free cash, and why base is up so muchis because said money went to them. but in reality it all feeds into uuuu market cap so from my standpoint its just a discount day. still largest uranium producer in the west after cameco. the plan is still the same.

its me uranium guy, my dynamic ip is retarded and keeps switching

SPX rejected at 5000 is the only good sign for bearish bias. 5% drawdown usually is followed with a big run up.

Oversold on larger timeframes. Points of control are in this 4980-4995 area.

A close above 4995 should push for a run up, at which point there will be a lot of liquidity pushing it up, most likely to the 5020 area

I bought some NVDA this morning. How fucked am I?
>>
>>58423569
idk, I base all my trades off of two people. One said that today is likely a bounce before resuming down. The other thought today was a bear trap and seems like a rally could be more prolonged. I'm going to sell all or almost all of my TQQQ before close today. I'll sell one of my TSLA calls before earnings and hold one for after.

I think NVDA has lower to go but could rally in the short term
>>
i got stopped in one position.

i opened a livermore pyramid tester in another stock. if it keeps going up i will go all in

SMCI put bro here.
$75K profit for a few days of pain, totally worth it.
Once it finds support I'll buy some more puts.

Long way down for AI meme stocks.

How are my little wolves of wallstreet doing?
>>
>>58423596
now both my guys are on board with a rally for a short while, so I'm just going to deleverage a little bit today, and hold more TQQQ than I planned
>>
>>58423608
stil ridding vix short and bought a bit of tsla, it deserves some correction(unless dump is due to insider info leaking and utter shit earnings below already low expectations)
>>
>>58423623
VIX short? What's the feces here?

I'm long equity TLT and some TLT August calls, because I think the stock market is going down the shitter and they will cut rates in June.

Tesla, looking battered down here with some good support. Not a bad entry here unless the rest of the market takes a shit which is likely as we get close to May.

>>58423632
vix short still from yesterday, want to close around 15.5, I think correction has ended and line must go up once more
