>>18095476I saw someone say something similar with regards to Le Beau. One of the Youtube frag guys talked about how he really didn't like Le Beau when it first came out, but now he loves it and loves the new one Paradise Garden even more. Though he did say he grew to really love Le Beau before he tried Paradise Garden.

Anyone got any fragrances coming in? I've got Guerlain Heritage on the way, which I think I should get in a couple days. I'm also interested in their Vetiver, but not sure if I want the EDT or Parfum. I'll probably order a sample of the parfum and some other things though before I make up my mind. Though I feel like I am going to slow down because I don't want o be purchasing a new fragrance every month.
>>18095518get the EDT for vetiver. parfum concentrations for men are universally a bad idea.
>>18095523>parfum concentrations for men are universally a bad idea.why is that? I could understand if the note blend is different between the two, but is there an inherent reason why Parfums are bad for men?
>>18095535because they’re usually an afterthought of a flanker, an exercise in demanding a higher price tag because it says parfum rather than eau de. this is not the case with classic feminines where the parfum often came first or concurrently with the standard eau de toilette version.
>>18095538ahh ok. So is it usually a case of trust the first release over others?
>>18095555i would probably trust jean paul guerlain over delphine jelk who has seemingly never made a single good original fragrance, yes.
>>18095555nice digits and yes that's usually best, especially true here

I love the way lavender and vanilla play off each other but I don’t dig how soapy Le Male smells. Anything like it but without those overt soapy notes? I kinda just want straight up lavender and vanilla, but I’ll settle for something with other notes as long as they aren’t super prominent and aren’t soap-scented.

>>18095713I do that with everything since I like smelling my nice frags through the whole day unless I'm gonna be in a car of someone I don't know or at the doctor or when doing goverment stuff
I spray twice sometimes 3 times on my neck. But I also tend to spray once on the back of the hand so I can periodically check throughout the day how the fragrance is doing.
I was talking to a woman about getting interested in colognes but not being sure if I wanted to drop $ on one. She started talking smells like having dior sauvage and liking a scent called Jazz Club. She also recommended a "duper" called Dossier and I ordered their dupes for Creeds Aventus, Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and Tom Fords Tobacco Vanilla. Thoughts? Women say I seem like the guy from Hoziers song "Too Sweet" and that I am an outdoorsy type with my long hair and beard etc. So wanted to lean into that with the more woodsy stuff, while the Woody Sage supposedly smells more like the sea for a more every day wear.
>>18095749>projection>more retardation

SOTD Al Rehab Dakar
SOTD thierry wasser's masterpiece before he got sodomized at guerlain
>>18095518There is no Guerlain vetiver parfum. There is only edt. Previously they made edc and an aftershave which are completely different fragrances than the edt. The aftershave is awesome and the performance is very good. Hope you like heritage. You would be covered if you had Guerlain heritage, vetiver, and Habit Rouge.
>>18095749>>18095758I can also say yatagan is a good choice. Guerlain vetiver is also worth considering. It is also very green and earthy smelling. But more in a grassy way than woodsy.
>>18095832The Parfum just came out. I've seen some people express disappointment with it though
>>18095841I stand corrected. If I saw it for a discount I’ll buy it. But there is nothing like the edt. I also own Guerlain vetiver extreme that has poor reviews but I like it. I just love vetiver.

>>18095893Yeah really enjoying wearing 1881 on the spring. Fresh, green and floral, very appropriate for the season.
>>18095927Nobody know for sure, but considering how it’s been a decade since OG Sauvage and the Sauvage line is milked to death now (ok, Elixir was good, but it’s also the obvious end of the line), you’d assume that it would be sooner than later.

I understand /frag/ isn't huge on fragrances that are over $500 retail, but to me, those scents absolutely obliterate anything that can be had for $300, $200, much less sub $150. >>18096923It’s not on fragrantica so I assume it’s TikTok garbage? Probably arab as well
>>18096676>No one in this general has ever liked a single fragranceTrue for me but only because I like so many fragrances, saying I liked a single fragrance would be an untruth.
>>18096929Dunno. Discovered it through Fragrance Marketplace. Got it for $125 so not a total loss, think I’ll be able to get my money back either through decants or just outright selling it back through that group
GOAT
>>18096676True, I hate every perfume I own and those I don't own, I hate even more. I would like perfume if it wasn't for the smell. Oh my word, the smell.
>>18096941What does it smell like? Do you feel it is good warm and cold weather fragrance? I kind of want to pick up another Chanel fragrance, other than Bleu de Chanel.
>>18096948It pretty much can be worn anytime. It's my favorite Chanel, by a huge mile. I've tried them all except that Allure Homme Cologne
>>18096950Have you tried the exclusifs or just the "Male" line? I kind of also want to try and maybe eventually buy Sycomore.
>>18096950Oh also how sweet is it? I do like fragrances with some sweetness, but I'm trying to find stuff now that isn't sweet or is only lightly sweet.
Why does Creed lie about everything? They haven't been in business since 1760, they haven't created exclusive fragrances to celebrities/politicians, Green Irish Tweed wasn't Sinatra's signature scent, and none of their fragrances are more than a few decades old.
>>18096963>Why does Creed lie about everything? It's all about shekels, bro
What am I in for?
>>18096692thanking you for shilling your own recommendations repeatedly while disingenuously pretending that there’s any actual serious discourse behind them? no thanks, i’ll pass.
>>18096956you’re asking a whole lot from someone who obviously knows very little.
>>18096679Holy based!
>>18096958It's just enough, not very sweet but there is definitely sweetness to it. It's perfect to me.
>>18096891kek
>>18096956>I kind of also want to try and maybe eventually buy SycomoreJust get Encre Noire which is 10 times less expensive than Sycomore.
>>18096958Also make a thread to thank me letter because these perfume threads are just 2 guys the Drakkar Noir fag and the Bois Imperial mutt jerking each other off.Jannies must ban them
>>18096992and also smells 10 times worse because it smells like total ass.
What are gay dragons favorite CK's?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMvNeBZx9Xw
two questions: is it worth trying to find deals on something like ebay? What is the difference between "vintage" and non-vintage(?) scents? Any significant distinction? There're a few scents that I am shopping for that are for sale in both a vintage and normal, google says that vintage scents are from the 80s... still worth getting?
>>18096948NTA, but>What does it smell like?spices (mainly pepper), peach (it gives a sweet vibe when just sprayed. It's a top note), and some vanilla, coconut and woods at the drydown. That said, don't worry. It's sweetness is very subtle, unlike some JPG or PR sugar bombs. However, don't take my opinion at face value, you need to try it and draw your own conclusions.>Do you feel it is good warm and cold weather fragrance?autumn / spring. Maybe you can wear it year-round if it's not too hot where you live.

>>18097105>smelling like a womens purseNo thanks bro.

Yup, it's fragrance time.
>>18097018Do your homework and you’ll reduce the likelihood of being scammed, but chances are it will happen to you eventually. It’s a personal choice of risk/reward where for me personally the risk isn’t worth it. Not only for myself in getting scammed, but frankly I just don’t want to reward the people doing it. As for vintage/non, over the years fragrance ingredients have been getting banned, reducing the overall performance of some very popular frags. These supposedly vintage bottles were made prior to the ban and perform/smell better.
>>18097018Vintage is a whole other can of worms. Only get into it when you know your shit already and can navigate all the bullshit that surrounds vintage fragrances.
Bortnikoff's son has his own brand now. 3 scents so far, Amber Balsam looks alright. Ramsey had a free shipping code on his livestream last night. It's 'Ramsey'.https://www.maksimperfume.com/perfumes/
>>18096900Also considering blind buying that oneI smelled the women's version a while back and it reminded me of 1881 a little but more floral
SOTD: Xerjoff Fiero again. Bitter anon doesn't know what he's missing
>>18097166I'm looking for a fresh summer scent, so I'm not going to buy it if it's like Cerruti 1881 which is fine as well, but not what I'm looking for.
>>18097176nta but if you want a freshy for summer try Versace Dreamer
>coping about wearing jerk off
>>18097165Something is seriously off about this retard. Best case it's mere autism.
>>18097176the Homme should be fresher, more citrusy and less floral, more like Eau Sauvage than 1881
>>18097176Xerjoff Fiero
>>18097193Maksim or Ramsey?
>>18097001I like that he can go from discussing long-dicontined 1970s fragrances no one cares about anymore to Calvin Klein fragrances, enjoying both
>>18097201The latter
>>18097203Yea he's probably got the 'tism.
>>18097202That shows real passion, someone who does it solely for scene cred / internet points wouldn’t be able to admit liking the latter.
>>18097174i’m missing out on overpriced wop masstige garbage and i’m happy about it.
>>18097209>overpricedNah it's priced fine grey market
>>18097211it’d be overpriced at $10, but i wouldn’t expect you to know better.
>>18097211>Nah it's priced fineno the fuck it isn't
Well my gift for my nephew arrived today. Here is the package as it looked when just opened.
>>18097213Smells great and lasts all day. What more do I need to know? >>18097214I'm thinking it is
>>18097215congrats on your nephew coming out of the closet, groomer>>18097217>smells greatincorrect
>>18097215This is a bit of a closer look at the container for the bottle. I'm not going to open it up since it is a gift.
>>18097217just admitted you paid out the ass for overpriced "niche" slop
>>18097221if only you took the same approach to his butthole at age 5, maybe he wouldn’t have grown up to be a faggot.
>>18097222*admit w/e>>18097215>>18097221once again it is a shame you can't choose your family
Here one of the available complimentary gifts it came with. You can tell this toiletry bag is really high quality because it was made in China. Though whatever material it is made of does feel pleasantly soft and squishy. I will probably give this to my niece since I don't think my nephew would care for it.
>>18097222Barely more than Eau Sauvage but it lasts about 8 hours longer. Easily worth it>>18097220>incorrectWhy
>>18097226trying to groom your niece too, buddy?>>18097227because it smells like shit, much like current eau sauvage, but no one expected you to know any better.
>>18097228>because it smells like shit, much like current eau sauvage, but no one expected you to know any better.Sounds like bitter anon doesn't have a real answer and just repeats the same old poopoo peepee. Sad!
Here are the three samples it came with. I chose the two La Belles so my niece could have something since she is starting to like things like bath bombs. I'll give her those with the toiletry bag. The Le Beau sample comes with the bottle and it's purpose is try it before you open the bottle itself. If you don't like the smell then you can return the bottle at no cost. This is actually a nice practice by Jean Paul Gaultier it makes it easier to blind buy something if you don't have easy access to it near you.
>>18097231sticking your ears in and going “LA LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU” again. typical.>>18097232great for trying out the gay lifestyle!
>>18097234Actually my bitter non-first letter capitalizing friend, no u.
Here is a post card that came with the package. I don't really have a use for it so I'll probably just wind up throwing it out. Or maybe I will send it to our resident fragrance hipster who know so few things other than whatever he reads by Luca is the only acceptable opinion to have on any fragrance. Perhaps the post card of a heart will thaw his.
Send it to your gay lover
>>18097241save it for your boyfriend, faggot>>18097239retard
Here is the back of the bottle container. B ased on my experience with other Jean Paul Gaultier bottles I can confirm that the image of the bottle is on the plastic wrap and not the can container itself.
I'm gonna spray the shit out of this all summer and buy more next year
it'd be stupid if it were on the can
>>18097247he's definitely going to think you're trying to fuck him
>>18097247what about the free anal condom? where does that go?
>18097248>I'm going to give money to terrible products instead of good ones
>>18097253he’s mentally retarded, please be nice
>>18097253>terribleSorry, but you seem to have no reason for it being terrible other than...it's... le bad
>>18097259Since it's not good it has to be bad, seems simple to me
>>18097262Yeah you got nothing nigger. I will continue Fieroposting and you will take it
>>18097259>>18097264horribly embarrassing stuff
>>18097264and you don't have taste nigger get fucked
>>18097202I'm actually really enjoying his channel, to be desu. He might be the only fragrance-related youtube channel that's actually informative
>>18097298he knows a lot and from what I've seen has correct opinions about frags shame about the furry shit but what can you do
>>18097301Everyone gets to have a major fault in their personality. I'm just glad his isn't related to fragrance.
>>18097250Wait, is he not? I was under the impression that receiving JPG le Male from a handsy uncle was the first step in the homosex metamorphosis
I got another order of mine delivered today. This one came from Guerlain.
The white cloth bag contained my samples. I was honestly a little disappointed in that I could not choose different samples. I am somewhat interested in the Habit Rouge Parfum and the L'Homme Ideal Parfum, but I really wanted to try the Vetiver Parfum, and then also Mitsouko and Jicky. I got three samples so I just picked the other because it was the cheapest other scent for women and I figured I would give that also to my niece. There were others that sounded more interesting but I didn't want to be the uncle who introduced a fragrance to my niece that she winds up loving and a bottle costs $300 or $400. I think this one was like $140 or so.
i didnt realize the creep gay uncle was also the same guy begging for advice about guerlains, i regret engaging with him in good faith.
Here is the bottle of fragrance itself. The bottle has a nice heft and thickness to it. It looks like the glass itself is around 1/4 inch thick. The liquid itself is much lighter in color than I expected based on the pictures I saw online. After removing the cap the spritzer, reassuringly, has no detectable scent to it.
I've seen other people in videos look at there's, so I checked the inside of my cap. There is in fact a Guerlain symbol on the inside. The cap itself feels like it is made of plastic but it has a surprising heft to it, so I suspect it has a metal core. It clicks into place very solidly and can easily support the weight of the bottle when being moved around solely by grasping the cap.
>>18097360Now rather than try out my new bottle of Heritage, I am going to instead compare my new sample of Habit Rouge Parfum to my earlier sample of Habit Rouge EdT. Though in all honesty, unless this Habit Rouge Parfum is amazing I will probably be buying either the Vetiver EdT or Parfum next. I just need to get a sample of the new Vetiver Parfum to compare the two.
some of you guys would wear a fart if it was perfumed by jaqcues guerlain 100 years ago
>>18097387Yes.
>>18097387a fart composed by jacques guerlain would still smell infinitely better than jerkoff’s best perfume.
>>18097367I don't care what nerds say. I like the square bottles. They just look clean and elegant. Plus, I hate having to lay the long bottles down to fit them in a drawer.
>>18097370The L'Homme Ideal edp bottle had a clay cap. They should have stuck with that. It feels really nice.
>>18097395Yeah they are infinitely better than the listerine bottles they were using
>>18097397>had a clay capLike a baked ceramic sort of thing? That does sound interesting. Was it like clay earthenware for jugs etc? Or was it different?
>>18097409It definitely feels ceramic, but I just pulled it out of the drawer and now I'm kind of second guessing myself. The inside feels softer than the outside. I think it might actually just be the weighted plastic cap coated with some particularly gritty/tactile paint. When I run my fingernail across the outside of the cap, it definitely has that sort of gritty/sandpaper kind of feel you get with baked ceramic, and it even kind of sounds like it when you tap it. I don't know, it's kind of tripping me out now. I do not know what material I am feeling
>>18097409Actually, yeah, on closer inspection it's definitely plastic with a heavy kind of paint that gives the impression of baked ceramic. If you look closely you can see the seam from the plastic moulding, but it looks and feels like ceramic to the touch. And you can't actually see it IRL, but my phone camera brings out the unevenness of the paint in the textured part at the bottom.
>>18097429Hmm... looks similar to mine but a different color. Though I wouldn't describe the way mine feels as gritty. The top part is very smooth, and the bottom part that has that diamond pattern only feels lightly textured. Maybe yours does have some sort of rougher paint on it.
>>18097372Based keep us posted. I like how people are starting to come around to Guerlain. I went on a Guerlain binge a few years ago while they were cheap. Guerlain Jicky and mitsouko are nice. I like Jicky edc the most out of the edc edt edp and Parfum. I like mitsouko parfum more than the edc. I haven’t tried vetiver parfum. Guerlain heritage edt vintage used real Mysore sandalwood. It’s top quality stuff
>>18097387you can indeed bottle a fart
I started a new thread bros 001>verification not required.
oh I suppose we will have to make an actual new thread.
>>18097467>I like how people are starting to come around to GuerlainDoes Guerlain have a lot of detractors? I get people not liking certain fragrances but with my limited exposure to Guerlain fragrances I would say they have all been complex.
Never would have thought I’d miss the guy consistently making the new (quality) threads with the charts. Those other two threads are shitters.
