You have commissioned your own $130,000 bespoke signature scent from Guerlain, right anon? You're not poor, are you? You're not allowed to post in this general if you are poor. They come in the same 1 liter bee bottle that was originally designed to hold Eau de Cologne Imperiale, a fragrance crafted for Empress Eugenie on the night of her wedding to Napoleon III. You can't post here anymore until you have one made. It's part of the rules.

I don't know. I haven't smelled it yet. But this guy apparently loves it. However he also states that he at first didn't like the original Le Beau, but then grew to love it. So maybe he did just legitimately grow to like the scent or maybe he is being affected by hype. Take it which way you will.

>>
>>18099402
Animalic fragrances mimic/enhance the smell of sweat. There's a reason gay leather daddies all wore Kouros to orgies. The question you have to ask yourself is if your goal is to enhance the overall raunchiness or mask/minimize it. There is a time and a place for both.
>>
>>18099326
Women literally do not care what fragrance you're wearing. 90% of people will not recognize it even if they've smelled it before. 80% of people won't recognize it if they've worn it before. Only time that happens is if they knew someone they were close to who used it as a signature. And even then, it's usually a "you remind me of x" kind of reaction as opposed to a "that is eau de poopoo by the house of pee".

The most important aspect, in this specific situation, is whether it is generally pleasant and how much it costs. If she asks you what it is, tell her. Don't tell her how much it costs though, that's tacky. She'll look it up if she likes you. But you also have to dress nice.

I hope he does. I actually like his videos. I think he's doing himself a disservice by not at least playing the algo game a little bit and beefing up the production quality. He's pretty good at speaking extemporaneously, but if he were to script things out more and pivot to a longform video essay format, I think he could have a pretty successful channel. I don't know of a channel that actually does that. He's knowledgeable enough to carve out a niche for himself.

First of all you should want to smell like one of the fragrances available from Fragrance One. And if Fragrance One doesn't offer a scent that smells like the air before a thunderstorm then you shouldn't want to smell like that. That means you don't actually want to smell like that.

Got 4-5 bottles (100ml) that I’m about halfway through and gotten tired of/don’t wear anymore. What should I do? Try to sell them? Keep them and throw them on occasionally in the hopes I start to like them more/again?

>sick, post a review

Unfortunately my nose isn’t particularly keen for picking up specific notes even when I have the ingredients / scent profile to use as a guide, so testing Iceflow blind was even more difficult.
That being said, frankly I didn’t detect much while testing it, like a less developed version of Icefall.
All I got was a light, earthy woody scent, like some of his other fragrances but diluted out. I didn't detect any development beyond the woody/earthy scent, but I’m at over 5 hours as of writing and it’s still going, despite starting out very faint to begin with.

So far my favorite has been the Lime Cola. Started off a little waxy, but developed into a sweet citrusy scent with the barest hint of cola scent on the back end of it, like a glass of Coke/Pepsi fizzing a foot or two away.

The Delfiño was a strong green vegetal scent, and even without having much/any experience in gardens I could recognize the tomato leaf scent. It was pretty sharp though, and had a kind of green spicy scent to it. Not bad but not to my particular taste.

I was at douglas today again and I was trying out the gucci floral line. They felt so linear and uninteresting. I mean it would be a pretty nice fragrance for everyday use but not with that price tag. Am I missing something about these that can't be detected just by smelling the scented paper? Do they have a nice dry down, or maybe they work differently on skin?
>>
thoughts on wearing ralph lauren polo green as an early 20s guy with less masculine features? It's all I have. will it smell good to an artist chick or will it smell like I borrowed my dad's cologne?
>>
>>18100579
The actual scent doesn't matter unless it's something actually foul, what matters is your confidence wearing the scent.
If the fragrance makes you confident that's good for you, if it makes you feel weird or unsure about yourself that's bad
>>
>>18100575
I mean you could just try them on skin but more likely they are just bad/mediocre.
Gucci used to have some really really good scents but they are now unfortunately discontinued.
gucci guilty absolute and pour homme parfum are the ones I know to be good nowadays.
>>
>>18100579
>will it smell like I borrowed my dad's cologne?
If anyone in her family wore Polo Green it was her Dad's dad. You are safe from any previous association with the scent most likely. Also just whatever you like most. Except in really rare occasions, every fragrance will smell good to people.

For a lot it really isn't a big deal. But there can be some fragrances that are too feminine for a man to wear. Might be different rules for a gay guy.

Luca Turin's Cartier samples

>Baiser Volé parfum
Baiser Volé (stolen kiss) is a minimal interpretation of a perfumery theme I particularly love, the chaud-froid, to borrow an old-fashioned culinary term. I first encountered it in Jean-Michel Duriez’s magnificent Yohji Homme, a fresh, spacious, cooling accord atop a warm, liquorice-spicy confection. Laurent has streamlined the contrasting pairing to a lily note, which smells very lavender-like to me, on top of a smooth coumarin-vanilla accord, reminiscent of a classic fougère. The familiarity of the materials, the wonderfully smooth articulation between them, and the deceptive simplicity of the structure all add up to an inexplicably affecting monochrome, a sepia photo that in time makes you feel color was uncalled for.
>>
>La Panthère parfum
I have been remiss with La Panthère. I smelled the EdT rather cursorily when it came out, and I did not form a definite impression. Now Cartier has sent me samples and I went for the parfum concentration. I now see what all the fuss is about. It’s beautiful. This said, I have to disclose a personal bias: I am not very fond of big liquor-like rose fragrances. They seem to tickle with a slight discomfort, similar to the feeling I get when touching flock wallpaper. Up close, there is a raspiness to La Panthère that reminds me of both Nahema and Cacharel’s Loulou.

But that is probably not a fair test. La Panthère, like Shalimar, is an action-at-a-distance fragrance, a ballistic device that sends a widening smoke ring of perfume travelling out across the room to its intended target. Both are best judged at ten paces and can feel coarse up close. When I sprayed it on a strip, Tania almost immediately said, “That smells nice,” while I was still struggling with the thunderous bang at my end. In the Monclin, a completely different aspect prevails, a lovely transparent rose with, unusually, a pear accord making up the other half of the fruity-floral. Mathilde Laurent’s mastery of radiance is second to none. This is definitely a fragrance to be worn and used for its intended purpose, not assessed on a strip.

no one in this thread cares about cartier perfumes lol, not enough woody amber aromachemical bombs.

Just hit fragrance #36 and decided I need to burn through all of these before I buy any more… this hobby is too expensive even with sampling

Not sure why you fags keep buying full bottles. Even a 3ml sample lasts long enough for me to get bored of the scent around the time I finish it. Then you have your 5-10ml twisty bottle decants too, which are even better.
