For audio during a call? You don't, at least not with Bluetooth. Get some non-Bluetooth wireless headset. They use a USB dongle that shows up as an audio device on the computer and transmits audio using their own proprietary RF protocol that doesn't go into cucked mode whenever you use the mic.

No clue if there's something like the 5K but RF instead of Bluetooth. I use a 5K and just disable the headset part in the Windows sound device list, then use my laptop's builtin mic since that's good enough. If I need a better mic I'd get a separate wireless lavalier mic.
Bluetooth is fine so long as you stay far away from the mic device. HFP is good for telephone calls and that's about it.

>>100138790
I'm pretty happy with my Timeless. I have the original one which is MMCX. The newer AE version is 2pin and the only other difference is they tweaked the tuning a bit.

>>
>>100138739
the orch lite will be fine. use some foams or zeos render hybrid tips and you're set to not hear much arohnd you
>>
>>100138830
Nobody can, you'd need an extremely sensitive oscilloscope to see meaningful differences
The only problem with Bluetooth is the TWS shit being purposely designed e-waste, but the Bluetooth dongles are usually fine
>>
>>100138825
No. Two issues. One, mic is only supported in whatever codes the Qudelix app reports as "WIDE" or "HD VOICE", and both of those blow chunks. Two, now you're running multiple BT devices next to each other and one of them isn't super low bandwidth like a mouse or game controller. You'll get interference and it'll suck.

You do have one potential option: aptX-Adaptive r2, now with voice support. It does everything you want, all in one device. Good luck finding anything that supports it though.
>>
>>100138871
Exactly, and TWS doesn't seem to work with LDAC. Also TWS IEMs always sound worse than decent wired ones and cost more. This is why I use a 5K clipped to my shirt collar and an IEM with a short cable on it.

Do IEMs have different FR at different volumes? And do passive SMD components for dampening or crossovers make the frequencies they act on behave non-linearly? Basically, does EQ even work if you can't measure it yourself?

The passives are linear, but drivers have a spring restoring force towards zero displacement that will "compress" the waveform at large displacements. DD has the surround for the spring force, and BA has the paperclip. The planar membrane has the least restoring force ... but it also has no rigidity, so it's non-linear in a different way, it breaks up into many surface modes.

>>
>>100141190
It's the mesh thing at the end of the nozzle. They clog from moisture from inside your ear.
>>
>>100140665
Stutter usually means your source sucks balls and can't keep up, or there's too many other Bluetooth devices in the area. Idk how good the antenna on either the XM3 or your source are, but when I've taken my 5K and 2023 Motorola phone on the subway I had to be in a packed car with about half the people wearing wireless earbuds before I got even intermittent cutouts at 909 kbps.
My last phone was a Galaxy S7 Edge and couldn't handle 909/990 kbps without intermittent cutouts even with no interference, but it was rock solid at 606/660. People seem to complain about high bitrate LDAC working badly on the latest Galaxy Fold models too.

>Past gear and thoughts
Had a pair of true wireless moondrops (kuroneko) and the bluetooth in them started frying my fucking brain, also the buds were uncomfortable. I use Philips SHP9500 headphones when I'm at home. Basically can't wear any headphones that aren't open back, over ear, and light with a soft head band for more than an hour.
So this time around I want to go with some wired option, preferably with clips to keep them in my ears better.
>>
>>100145490
The camera bump is twice the thickness of a 4.4 connector. That thing is fat.
Knowing Moondrop pricing, this will probably cost more than any flagship phone.

I'm thinking about getting some hybrid for a change, the budget would be about 100 bucks, the contenders are the Hexa, Nova and Shillgot EM6L, maybe something else as long as cute anime girls and shimmering digital synths sound good

These actually sound relatively okay with the Z1R mostly because the stock response is already kinda awful. Normal tips give me painful sibilance at like 11.5K which is gone with the jijujets, instead replacing it with a 7K rape which isn't as painful for me.
>>100150472
It fits weird, they barely insert into your ears but they do seal. Unironically put regular tips on backwards and that's pretty much how it fits.

putting tips on iems can be tricky until you've done it a few times. try approaching the nozzle at a 45 degree angle so that one half of the tip's interior covers one half of the nozzle well, then rotate it the rest of the way down so that it sits straight and covers both sides.

nova is a better close approximation of the actual harman target with the more defined bass tuck. q1 pro is more of the usual vaguely harman 1dd tuning we've gotten 20 new implementations of per month since the moondrop starfield. not to say that stricter adherence to harman means nova is better (or worse) though.

Did you order those directly from an Etymotic storefront (their site, Amazon, etc.)?
I also ended up with triple-flange tips with the extended stem once upon a time, after ordering direct from their site. I don't recall if I ordered ER38-18CLLs or ER38-18CLs on accident, or if I ordered what appeared to be the original clear triple-flange tips, only to end up with the shitty ones you've posted.
As a stop gap measure, I tried cutting the stem off. This did nothing for me, but maybe it will for you.
I also found that the extended-stem tips softened with regular use, to the point where I eventually reached comparable seal to the no-stem triple-flange (although noise reduction was at ~90%).
>>
>>100157767
Those should be the O rings that you put onto the threads of the nozzles to actually seal them. It's meant to prevent sound leakage.
>>
>>100158079
Decent price
>>
>>100158406
lmao show it to em sis
>>
>>100158634
No, those are just generic ones sold on ali. Unfortunately neither cutting the stem off or making them double flange works. There was a version of them without the longer stem but I'm not sure if it's sold by anyone anymore. I'm only looking for alternatives because etymotic's own tips are too expensive outside US. If I ordered directly from etymotic I'd probably get ER38-18 cause they discontinued frost triple-flanges and new clear tips suck imo.
>>
>>100157533

comfort is subjective. try pairs from amazon to definitively figure out if a particular set works for you, or return if it doesnt. Tanchjim Origin, Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite, Truthear Nova, Geek Wold GK100 should all be bass-lite enough with good treble
>>
>>100156333

it's not about the red color, there are some western examples of red products that look nice for general audience, for example Beats has red headphones (albeit shitty), Nokia made red versions of some of their phones (for example 8210), hell, Ferrari is red, so the color is not much of an issue I think
what is an issue is how all ingredients are put together and in case of queer pos the result is atrocious, as if the whole visual side is straight up neglected, at least from the western perspective it looks like the epitome of what we call chink shit
a less severe but still relevant example: a pos from moondrop of all companies, pic related, same story

>>
>>100166967
>or is it possible the TWS just doesn't fit my ear well?
yeah. also just play around with it and fiddle with it in your ear. it won't blow up and there isn't one universal "right" way to wear them. angle it differently, rotate it, tilt it, try the different sizes of ear tips, etc. but ultimately is it some foolproof uber comfort design? no, it's some generic ass tws with a generic oblong rounded shape. out ears are complex, creased, undulating shape

I did a comparison against the usb logitech h390 i currently have, using ms teams test call and its noise cancelling option, I had this kid neighbor of mine scream during the call and also blasted MJ on my cellphone, only heard my voice and there was no difference between both mics, (maybe this one was slightly better) so I think its good enough, also this has dual mics, the detachable boom and the regular one you will find on most headsets so i just put a piece of tape on that to mute it, also it has the regular play/ stop button on it which is nice for cellphone users i guess.
