In light of >>100140305 especially the conclusions in this reply, >>100140328 do you think the Industryâ„¢ will maneuver everything into cloud computing and the masses will eventually just use phones for everything under the auspices that it's better for the environment and only cyber terrorists need powerful GPUs and souped up computers.

Pixel phones now have a desktop environment, similar to Samsung DeX, Apple has made iPads more convenient to use on an external monitor as well. As these things continue to develop and Zoomers & Gen-Alpha consider phones/tablets as their primary computer, won't these trends culminate in the decline of PC desktops.
Furthermore as people get ever-poorer and restricted into a subscription based economy, they could make "powerful machines" cost prohibitive for average earners.

The overwhelming majority of people just use computers to access the internet and maybe use something like office, which they often use online as well. Cloud computing services for video editing, rendering, and gaming keep advancing all the while. By the end of the decade 6G networks are expected to begin rolling out, affording hyper fast low latency connections.

No need. You already can use your phone connected to a TV or monitor for basic stuff, saving everything on a phone.
