Getting into the different modes after about 10 years of playing. I knew playing over certain chords bring modal sounds out, but I never did it deliberately and over modal progression. It's like whole new worlds of colors opening up to me. I have much more appreciation for pentatonics now, the way they fit in to scale patterns in ways I didn't think they could. The fretboard is a wonderous thing. I am extremely glad that I knew my major and minor scales like the back of my hand before I got into this, made the transition easy and very fun. I don't have to think, I can just play. The fire is renewed.

Been thinking about picking up a higher tier or even Japanese made Yamaha Pacifica. I don’t need any more Strat style guitars but I don’t have any with a humbucker in the bridge and the higher priced Pacificas look really good. I have been impressed with every Yamaha I’ve ever played and I’m really thinking about taking the Yamaha pill and buying one or a few different models.
