I feel like I should just use my race suit for non-destination street rides because it can fit the airbag without buying more expensive shit and it fits better than anything else I have but I can't get over how fucking dorky I think a one piece with a hump and elbow sliders on a slow semi-upright bike on the street will seem. What makes this even more neurotic is it's not like my other gear is exactly subtle and casual and a race back protector in a jacket with no hump makes you look like you have maximum gamer neck at all times.

I only care about the aesthetics. Actual classic bikes are more expensive and unreliable. I've learned that the W800 and Royal Enfields are still air/oil cooled so that's nice. I think I'll just look for an air cooled Bonneville though (pre-2016).

Feel free to correct me physics anons, but I the reason sportbike tires arent perfectly rounded has somethingbto do with the fact that they are tubeless, so these geometries keep the air locked inside at speed where rounded corners would result in a rapid deflation, destabilization, and potentially a nasty crash.
>>

Or can you actually ride on that?

>>
>>27587527

>>
What the fuck tires have no sidewalls besides stance nonsense
>>
>>27587561
I believe this is correct. Aditionally, the tire tends to do what can be described as "bunching" at speed, and there's a point (especially on race tires) where the max grip starts happening with a sliggt degree of slippage. So even with a hard ass lean at speed you bike may start to drift before you can a chance to scrape a footpeg or slider.

As you have seen from my 750, I am not speaking from experience, merely ovservation, but this is my best working understanding at the moment.

I'm 192cm / 6ft3.6, might be a problem. Will have to sit on one to get a feel for it I guess.
Not necessarily planning on keeping it forever. Might just sell it a year or 2 later to get a 'proper' bike. Was thinking a VFR-800, but that's not really relevant right now.

i like yellow bikes. er5 is a perfect starter bike and it doesn't look like the worst condition for these bikes which are usually abused as year-round commuters. if it has a loving owner you should be fine

Looks something like this, but you should just try the bike out. Otherwise it's a one owner bike that seems to be in good condition for 600eur, that's stupid cheap.

i took the stock bars off my gs once for aftermarket and it was the biggest fucking headache, everything was some odd bmw specific size or connection. if they're just standalone oxford grips or something they should be fine
>>
>>27587802
Shit I had a feeling that's gonna be the case. I can see the aftermarket "unheated" replacement grips for the gs is 24mm, the bar is 22mm, the throttle side handle bar diameter is ??mm so I'm at a fucking loss here. I have a hunch the oxfords will not fit the throttle side, but I actually emailed them to specifically ask this.
I think I'll have to buy some heated gloves or glove liners.

Alright anons, if you could help me figure out what’s wrong with my bike I’d be very grateful. For context, it’s a 2014 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado 1700cc and fuel injected (pic related). The bike has 10,900 miles on it and it just started having this issue last week. So every time I ride it, the idle gets super low and the engine sounds like it’s struggling to stay alive. However, when I first start the bike it operates fine, idle is good, starter is fine etc. so I’m thinking it may be the high idle screw got loosened somehow? I’m not even sure it has a high and low idle screw, but that’s the only thing I can think of. Video link of the struggling sound below

https://streamable.com/89ttuo
>>
>>27587995
I say trade it in. These fake harleys aren't really built that well. They're kind of meant to be rented.
>>
>>27587993
Sure you can, just have to have the right tent. The kind where you first build the outer layer.
Setting up in the tain has some benefits too, like you can see where the water is pooling.
>>
>>27587993
i use a tarp and bivvy so i just put the tarp up first
>>
>>27587995
is this only when it warms up and goes away once it's cold?
>>
>>27587995
Does she pull okay? Sounds like one of the cylinders is misfiring.
Could be spark plugs, plug leads, ignition coils, maybe a clogged injector? Maybe something as simple as syncing the throttle bodies?
>>
>>27587995
There should be a screw somewhere near the throttle body that does it. Does the engine run fine when you're riding?
>>
>>27588006
Yes, correct, I have a video of me starting it, and it runs absolutely fine. It’s when the bike heats up it runs horribly

https://streamable.com/hrsu2d
>>
>>27587977
Hold firm, you should have no problem getting that number.
>>
>>27588011
I haven’t really noticed a drop in power when applying throttle, it’s only when I pull in the clutch or let it idle

>>27588012
Yes it runs totally fine when riding

>>27588011
It could be, I think the service manual says to adjust the throttle bodies every 16k miles but it only had 11k but it may need adjustment now
>>
>>27588018
I'd just set my idle higher and move on with my life if that happened to my bike.
>>
>>27588011
>>27588018
Wait sorry I was thinking of valve adjustment
>>
>>27588014
i'd be looking at the charging and ignition systems but i've also seen this with a dying fuel pump, although usually this will be a known issue for the model
>>
>>27587953
yea i AM a simp for the pusszuki
>>
>>27588018
I'd just change the plugs and sync the throttle bodies and see if that does 'er.

I doubt it's the fuel system, I think the top end would die first before idle does.
>>
>>27588020

>Cool bike bro but don’t be a pussy and ride it like it is.
based.
>>27588030
it can happen when the voltage to the pump drops at idle but you'd probably know if your model fuel pumps are susceptible to it
>>
>>27588037
Makes sense, but I guess you'd have both cylinders struggling since only one injector is ever firing. Road star bro should put his ear to both cylinders and check if only one of them is acting up.
The "runs fine when cold" part is throwing me off a bit.
>>
Boys I think I'm falling out of love with riding a bit. I'm tired of being on the road with lunatics, and I've ridden all the good roads around my home to death. Not sure where to go from here. Probably should try off road riding but I only just bought my latest bike about a year ago.

I'm getting my A2 license soon (i can ride anything under 35kw power or limited to 35 kw from a maximum of 70kw 70kw=93.8hp) and i'm very unsure what bike to look for/get. I have been riding an Aprilia rs4 125 for the past 3 years and it was great fun. I feel drawn in by the sense of adventure i could get with an off-road bike, especially since i will spend the summer very close to the woods, but i would also love some late night city shenanigans with a sport bike in the big city i live most of the year. It's not a 'merger' - read a fucking article niggers. It's just a partnership where CFmoto will make cheap versions of the small shitty Yamaha models in China.

Yeah well zoomer are poor and seem to think buying a brand new bike loaded with electronics and under 600cc is a good idea so their trying to serve the market the budget tier iPhone 250s it craves. I don't agree with it, but Yamaha is a business and they're going to sell what the consumers are buying no matter how stupid it is.

Anybody got experience making/using vinyls on their helmet?
Mine is carbon fiber so Idk how it will interact with adhesives?
Any tips for placing them?
I got some designs I wanna work out while I wait for the state to answer whether its legal or not (Europe so laws are weird sometimes)

I had to sell fireblade to pay for baby stuff. It took 10 years to build up enough to buy a bike without causing any financial impact.

I DROPPED MY VFR IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE KICKSTAND DIDN'T DIG IN

Thankfully the side box and frame slider kept the fairings and mirror off the pavement and some other guys ran over to get it up off the ground but holy shit I did not want this. I'm stopping for a full meal instead of just gas and a piss to shake off the gremlins.

Helmet, motorcycle boots, gloves, mesh or textile riding jacket depending on weather (it's usually fucking hot). I wear the same gear when going to work, minus the moto boots, gotta wear the uniform boots.
>>
>>27588796
>Bros what do you guys wear for riding?
I try to wear gear, but aside from helmet/gloves/boots I only wear jacket/pants occasionally.
>Do you have different gear for casual vs spirited rides?
Yes.
>Leather vs textile?
yes.

kinda frowned upon around here to not wear those.

I meant more along the lines.of do you wear jeans or actual motorcycle pants either leather or textile.
>>

And you let that stop you from enjoying your freedom?
>>
>>27588856
On rare occasion, yes. They are by far my least worn pieces of gear though.
To be honest, I only wear a jacket when the weather necessitates it.

>mfw spent three hours today explaining to a retard that kicking over motorcycles is a crime
>he was so confident he was legally allowed to kick over motorbikes if they were illegally parked

For lunch or light grocery or short stuff under 40 I'll go gloves, helmet, normal jeans, and Doc Martens. Whatever shirt based on temps. Even did shorts to inflate tires in 25mph zones once.

For any length or riding for fun, helmet, earplugs, gloves, boots, pants, jacket.

Helmet and pants are Sedici I don't know if they're that good. Boots gloves and jacket Alpine Stars.

A big part of me thinks this too. I'm enamored with the idea of being able to make it keep up with my 600 but maybe that's not what this is all about. I am getting the YZR500 fairing conversion kit though and no amount of authenticity rhetoric or boomer bullying is going to stop me, picrel.
