I did not ride my biku today
>>27589069Why not?
I want to buy a Transalp from 2003 to do little "road trip" around Europe (I'm from France). Not everyone is fan of the design but I kinda love it.
>>27588365>My dude, I've studied electronics and worked as a sparky fixing lifting equipment,No you havent.
I did ride my biku today
>>27588905You dont know shit about the law either, kid>felony for pushing over a bikelol you're stupid.
>>27589078I was working, and then the weather was shit.Next week is in the 40s with snow/hail/rainThis weekend is the last chance to ride my biku for a while.
Sitting in the slow lane in 6th enjoying the scenery. Wind on the power and the torque is just incredible. Can't believe its only 100bhp.
>>27589051IRL Reiko?!?!?!
>>27589090Yah that's gonna depend on the state. For example, it's a misdemeanor in California, however it would be a class D felony in Connecticut.
i cant afford anything at the moment :( except beat up 90s bikes on facebook
I can’t ride for 2 weeks bros

>>27589132>no one wants to steal your baikuthis is why I'm happy to ride a beat up single cylinder BMW GS from 20 years ago. nobody with a braincell is gonna waste time on stealing that shit
>>27589140Woooow! Wish I was rich like you. What do you ride now?
Goddamn I'm really raging at all the fucking retards I see on the streetWhat is it about riding a bike that makes me want to beat the shit out of every faggot ass faggot that does dumb shit in front of me?
>>27589146Probably because your life is in the line ever time you get on your bike.
>>27589138Is there a full power tune out for these yet?
>>27589146Are you 16? Why care so much about others
I now understand why American touring bikes are so big. My VFR was getting tossed around by crosswinds all the way across eastern Washington unless I kept it in the VTEC zone for more pull, and I *still* had to lean into them a bit.
>>27589150Yeah you're probably right, good observation>>27589154Shut the fuck up you blathering retard

>>27589216does your back hurt or do you NEED wide bars
I unironically think Keith Code might be why English speaking countries suck at motorcycle racing now
>>27589216because it's based (on the TL1000S/R)
>>27589173I have an LS2 vector 2 and it's good for value, it isn't too heavy, padding is fine. I only wish there was a D ring faster not the ratchet one as it's hard to adjust and is just not the best.
>>27589223I've always liked the girder ass 2nd gen SV frame but common opinion is the round tube frames on the other generations are more attractive, even if the gen 1 fairings are ass fucking ugly. Personally I think big round aluminum tubes on gen 1s are weird though.
>>27589153Not that I’m aware of.
>>27589173I’d recommend one of those Kaiser style German helmets with the point on top.Alternatively you could put a few n95 masks on the top of your head. Those are probably cheap as hell now.
>>27589231>TL1000syeah>TillernahThat doesn't answer why the TL1000s has them anyways, but protip they are raised clip ons so they're not much lower than a flat bar naked.

>>27589248How did you know it was me
>>27589238Agreed. I just really like the 2 headlight look of the headlights on that era bike. Insect era was the worst for me, but the transformer bikes I am liking.>>27589247I know many brands just put on riser clip ons since sportbikes were more common then nakeds with bars back then.I suspect if nakeds were selling better then they would have pulled the Triple tree of the bandit or something.

>>27589463no, i'm not a degenerate loser.
>>27589432Every single trident gets bumped up to 90hp as soon as it’s out of the warranty period. I would be shocked if this “better” engine doesn’t get popular as a base to make 110 at least.
That's a 300 mile day in the books. Today I learned just how much of a racebike my VFR is at heart. Howling along at highway speeds the engine temp was about 165°F all day even putting in close to a hundred miles in VTEC rev ranges to fight crosswinds and pass trucks (RIP in piss my gas mileage), but pootling along in city streets for ten minutes finding my hotel afterwards it jumped up to about 205°F.

Then you go onto to tell them about the commuting you've done and how to lane/edge filter on it and they go into a state of absolute denial.Meanwhile mirror to mirror the wing isn't that much wider than other big bikes. What is it about the Goldwing that causes so many people to go into ego defence mode?

>>27589512Don't even notice if when I'm on the bike.
>>27589579So my issue is that I have a current helmet that I followed all the steps with but after about an hour and a half starts to hurt my forehead.

> spend over 2 hours of my life repeatedly explaining to a man that kicking over a motorcycle because it was legally parked is still a crime and that because he did over $3,000 worth of damage to it by doing this he's committed a felony and is going to jail possibly for multiple years> right off that have to deal with a woman who slapped the brochures our of a man's hand because he called out hello to her and said she had beautiful eyes before offering her a brochure for a car wash. It took half an hour to explain to her that he wasn't being charged with anything but she was being charged with assault. I absolutely hate being a cop
>>27589608one of my best friends is a cop that sounds exactly how his days go.there is a mentally unwell elderly woman that he has to deal with once a week, calling them about people spying on her or stealing the water from her kitchen sink. not well in the head at all but not dangerous, just annoying.

>>27589608My mate is a cop and he said over the years it's made him racist. The kind of shit the foreigners will do (mostly Asians and Indians) to get out of fines is astonishing. That, and the crimes people can commit and still get bail is infuriating
>>27589608Must be rough being a pig.
>>27589141still a gamble, niggers see a bmw logo and lose the last 2 functional braincells they had
often when I'm working on my bike's engine (valve adjustment etc) I'll use pic related to keep things clean. I always see the rags dropping little fibers all over the place, especially when I'm tearing off a new one.I'm sure they end up inside the motor, should I worry about them causing damage? they're just cloth fibers. will my oil filter catch them?
>>27589628if cops could flog the shit out of these people i doubt theyd do it again
New windscreen came today from Germany.
took the viffer out today for a short ride. weather wasn't nice it gold cold.tried some clutch up wheelies and even managed go get her front up a few times. but boy she does not like it, chunky girl

>>27589674looks like a triceratops had a hate child with a praying mantis.nice bike fren
>>27589653Your oil filter will catch them I would not worry too much,That is actually the main reason new cars do not come with dip sticks anymore, Is the fibers left on it after wiping it to check it.But in my opinion that is retarded.

>>27589722Had to stop for some chili dogs
>>27589729Looks radioactive
>>27589600Where’s it at though?

>>27589729Where choccy milk
>>27589729Diarrhea looking chili, what the hell?
I have never had to fill a new battery, why do only small batteries come like this.
>>27589746that sounds like some old man grumblings.i can't find any good google search results for "why" manufacturers are getting rid of dipsticks but i would wager that it's because manufacturers don't want their retarded customers overfilling the engine/transmission or putting the wrong fluid type in, or doing any other maintenance on their vehicle.i know for sure that they were first used on benz, bmw, porsche, audi's because it's a "luxury feature" and allows you to "check your oil" without leaving your seat but it's an absolutely boneheaded concept.I've come into multiple situations in which i need to correct the oil level on a vehicle i'm working on post repair because it was low due to a leak and the cust. doesn't want the oil changed and the only way to check it is to run the fucking engine for 20 minutes with half oil capacity so the shitty sensor (which is probably leaking from it's gasket too) can give me an "accurate" reading of the oil level.sorry to rant in your direction but "cloth fibers" sounds absolutely retarded and i don't believe it for a second.
>>27589781>run the fucking engine for 20 minutes with half oil capacityI have dealt with exactly this many times when I worked as a tech. And I should have worded it different as not "the main reason" But "one of the main reasons".There are things like emissions faults due to failed o-rings, Oil contamination from rags, owner over filling ect. But we were told that oil contamination from checking with low quality rags was a genuine concern. I personally think it is retarded. As well as the Luxury aspect of you never need to open the hood to check the oil. Manufactures don't want the customer doing anything under the hood except maybe fill washer fluid.

>>27589835Same thing, jamal
>>27589832i should have waited 6 months and got the pikes peak version, the 19" wheel is unnecessary. but the things it gets right out way the things it gets wrong but such a large amount it doesn't bother me too much. ill buy another one in the future when my warranty runs out but id like something in between, dont want to go from a multistrada to a multistrada.
>>27589729>no choccy milkEven if the chili + milk combo-induced sharting propels you harder than your crotch rocket you have to go for it, it's just the right thing to do.Also trim your nails, don't be a negro. The missus will appreciate not being carved like linoleum when you fingerblast her.>
>>27589796I mean if someone is going to introduce contaminants into the oil system the dipstick definitely seems like the weakest link so it is a fair argument on their end but like you said, retarded.Shit like that cracks me up because theyll get rid of the oil dipstick for an oil level sensor but then here comes jimbo at the jiffylube pouring oil into your engine that has one of those little rubber catch trays around the oil fill neck that's full of fucking dirt and sand and rat turds and various other organic material and voila, ridding the engine of the dipstick because of "micro cloth fiber contaminants" has been completely nullified.

>>27590262If it's been parked there the whole time then I think I know what the problem is
>>27590272thx frend>Verification not required.
>>27590275The Front is working like a charm. I dont want to ask my dad since he is currently under a lot of stress, he might have cancer and his company is currently restructuring a lot, he is the chief of the Selling dep. so hes working a lot of overtime.
>>27590278No I dont. It is a wonder I can start this thing and Do my daily drive without crashing.
>>27590286Hope your dad is okay in the end. Chatting to him about wrenching might be a good way to take his mind off the stress of life if that's something he likes doing. Maybe do some research and tell him what you're thinking of doing so he doesn't have to spoon feed you. Anyway, you should be changing your brake fluid every two years at minimum. If you don't your master cylinder and calipers can get gunked up and fail early. I change my fluid once a year along with coolant, air filter, etc.
>>27590175He my fren
>>27590293Yea I might, cant look at the video right now Im currently in Class. He might have some time today. He also got a Vespa wich he is working on (the baby blue one in the background) so we might pop a beer or two and work along each other. I never did any maintenance since I own my little fella for only ~6 Months. Probably should. So again, that my sleep deprived brain understands. I need to:-change oil-change the break fluid-dunno what else?
>>27590302Check for leaks from the brake cylinder, change brake fluid both front and rear even if the front is normal.
I got my first EFI bike and the throttle is way more choppy than my carbie bikes. Any tips or exercises to get smoother throttle?
>>27590302What year is the bike? A 125 would be a great way to cut your teeth if you want to do more wrenching. Here's a list of things you're going to have to do eventually >Change fork oil>Check valve clearances>Change spark plug>Change air filter>Lube suspension linkage and swing arm bearings>Check wheel bearings>Change brake pads>Inspect and lube steering stem bearings>lube throttle and clutch cables>Change engine oil and filterThere's more but that's what I can think of off the top of my head. If your suspension is adjustable then I highly recommend researching how to tune it to your weight.Don't feel like you have to do everything all at once. I have a check list that I keep adding things to as I learn about them then plan one or two things to do and research them to figure out what tools I need and how long it'll take.
>>27590319Will do that, but as far as I have seen it doenst leave a trail. I will also do Oil for shits n giggles, never done that before so now is probably the time. You said something about air filters whats up with that? Also funky Captcha
>>27590326What bike? Some of them are just bad and the only way to fix it is an ECU flash. You'll get used to it eventually anyway.
>>27590326its all in the wrist.but srsly no, analog vs digital. get a better ecu or ecu mapping
>>27590328Thank you for all that brother, will probably not have the time for all of it but a bit will do. Its one of the last JC50s, rolled of the line in 2016
>>27590326Echoing >>27590332, do you know if your particular model is ride-by-wire? Some chink and poo bikes with EFI have really shitty wiring and tuning.
>>27590342How common is RBW on cheap shitty bikes? I always assumed it was only used on top end expensive bikes at the moment.
>>27590347Common enough that sub-5K USD baikus are now coming standard with it.
>>27590332>>27590336>>27590342It's a k25 1200gs. Cable throttle. I'm not messing with the ecu, so I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.I've ridden a new f850gs and the throttle was just as choppy, so maybe it's a bmw thing.
>>27590299The tranny?
>>27590362No
>>27590361It's not a BMW thing, its just how fueling is now. ECU flash fixes it
>>27590371I'm. Not. Touching. The. ECU. Some of us like having warranties and not ricing their clappers
>>27590372Why are you pretending to be me anon?
>>27590361This guy sold his because he couldn't get it to ride smoothhttps://www.advrider.com/f/threads/07-1200gs-jerky-at-steady-throttle-boosterplug.685638/This guy got his remapped and said it fixed ithttps://www.r1200rforum.com/threads/jerky-throttle-respose.8065/Sounds like you're gonna have to learn to live with it, which sucks. Both EFI bikes I've had (CB400 and CBR1000RR) have been smooth on the throttle. The only time I have an issue is on my work commute there's a long downhill section with a low speed limit. The Fireblade has a lot of engine braking so I need the tiniest touch of throttle to keep it at the speed limit. I get a little bit of an abrupt on/off feeling at this small throttle input but it's not that bad. Only happens there, no issues with slow riding around town.
>>27590374I guess it's not that bad all in all, it's just quite different coming from a carbie twin. It's mostly a problem at very low speeds but nothing a bit of clutch feathering can't solve.
>>27590370But that's who's in the pic
>>27590130Buy a goldwing with a CB module. Then you can talk to everyone on the road.>(hilariously the 2018+ models still require a Bluetooth headset to do this)
>>27590374the reason ur 1000 is doing that is because it's actually turning off the fuel injectors on decel so you're using 0 gas. Great for fuel economy if you don't mind the engine braking
>>27590397Yeah, I can get the ECU flashed to turn that off but to be honest it doesn't bother me. I need all the fuel range I can get, it already hits reserve at 200-220km
>>27590402Totally fair. I've actually flashed my bikes before and asked to keep that fuel cut on decel because I like the mpg and braking, just wanted better fueling/ignition timing/radiator fan settings.
>>27589952the blown up tshirt always looks so fucking stupid lmao
>>27590374My Z900RS is super jerky when cold, probably made worse because it has a huge loud exhaust and no tune. It gets better after a few mins but low speed when cold can be pretty sketchy. The answer is tune or git gud.
is a 3 hour / 250km ride too much on a bike that may have a leaking radiator? I still haven't confirmed the issue but really wanna go.
>>27590428Depends how often you need to top up the rad. Just water will be fine short-term if you can get away with it each fuel stop.
>>27590435how does that work anyway? isnt it really bad to open a hot rad?
>>27590438If there's no coolant in there and no pressure due to leaks it can't steam your face.
>>27590440genius
>>27590262I really hope this is bait.
>40f, 20 mph wind, rainI guess no riding my biku today either
>>27590410The radiator setting is one I want to change. At the moment the fan only comes on at ~105°C but I'd rather it come on at 95. Why do they make it so high from factory?
>>27590487Why do you think you know better than the engineers who designed it?
>>27590417>Using the painted lines to slalom
>>27590427That makes sense. Engines run a little lean when cold and richen up as they warm up, and the aftermarket exhaust makes it even more lean. Get a mail in tune, will make a world of difference.Moore Mafia just did a video on it coincidentally. I haven't watched it yet but typically the tune makes a huge difference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrgQ2wqBACQ

>>27590491why have such nice exhaust pipes and not a single sided swingarm? what a waste.honda did it reverse, also not ideal
>>27590488Australia gets really hot and I'd prefer the temps to not go over 110 when nominal temps while moving are 80°C
>>27590520bikes from that era almost always had 2 pipes for some reason, if we are talking about the ideal exhuast it would be a 2 in 1 shorty, but those are ilegal in many places
>>27590517Also just going to post this cool GW to contribute positively to the thread.

Bringing her in for annual service (still under warranty, otherwise I'd do it myself).Wish my wallet luck. >600mi break-in service last May>$517 for a glorified oil change and software updateI knew what I was getting myself into, but I don't have to like it.
>>27590563I've been watching a lot of videos on how to change tyres and I'm determined to do it myself from now on. I have changed the tyres on the dirt bike a few times and from what I can tell the only hard part of doing it on street bikes is breaking the bead. I bought pic rel because they seemed like a good tool
>>27590576>600mi break-in service last MayHate that shit. Bought my first bike with 568 miles on the clock. Felt like a mug.
Yep now I got fuel leaks after derusting the tank. Good thing I filled it so it wouldn’t flash rust
>>27590572Yeah I feel like a jackass.>>27590578I almost tried too, I have everything but the air compressor (though just normal tire irons, not that tool). Idk if it's unfounded or not, but I'm afraid of the tires exploding when I set the bead.

>>27589138It's the seat and riding position comfy for traveling?
>>27589173LS2 helmets are nice if you have a oval head shape, they are light and very breathable. But I wouldn't recomend them for touring, they are noisy as fuck.
>>27590593bro is about to get airstriked
>>27590586The oil is $100. Filter is $35. (DIY prices). Plus it was done at the actual Ducati dealer. Idk the full list of what they do for the rest of the break-in service, but it's most likely a nut and bolt check, top off fluids, software update, etc... So they probably just did the oil, looked at all the little paint marks the factory puts on the important nuts and bolts, then promptly charged for 3-4 hours of labor at $100/hr. After the warranty runs out, I'm either going to turn it in for another one, or start dumping mods into it and doing the rest of the services (aside from the desmo) myself.
>>27590604I'm too fast and know basic evasion maneuvers.
