Ødegaard is deeply religious. It wouldn’t surprise me if he lost his virginity to his current girlfriend.

She’s also a professional dancer and seems like the typical “vulgar” Norwegian woman aka very sexually liberated, so she probably rocked his world

As for Nelli I think it’s genuinely just whiplash from having to play with zonchenko for 2 seasons

TP5 the Octopus. What a fucking monster that guy is when he's not injured / away testifying to a rape trial jury.

There is a reason why Odegaard in a youtube interview said (I cant find the link rn) that Partey is the best passer on the team. Partey's incisive, line-breaking passes that he picks out super quickly help this team destroy opponents.

Thomas "Anal Pain" Partey is the best passer we have and he makes our team so much better when he's playing his normal level like today.

Partey as the 6, and Rice + Odegaard as the LCM and RCM is a ridiculously cracked midfield. The only issue is that Partey is permacrocked. FUCK man.

>What a fucking monster that guy is when he's not injured / away testifying to a rape trial jury.
ive heard he is also a monster in the sheets

Seems like Arteta was keeping Partey wrapped in cotton wool for Spurs and Man Utd. Eased in him very slowly so he arrived in those two crunch games in optimum shape.

We’re literally telling him “just give us 2 games”.

To be fair the team is built around Odegaard while Martinelli is always isolated. He should have scored yeah but seeing him actually have attempts at goal is encouraging.
>>
It honestly makes me so depressed thinking about how many points ahead of Liverpool and City we'd be if Partey wasn't injured the whole season. We would simply have outscored all the teams we dropped points against because Partey makes our offense like twice as good. holy fucking shit that guy is an elite passer / metronome
Every single attack through Partey is far more dangerous because his ball progression is wayyyy faster than Jorginho or Rice

It's why I think a player like Zubimendi is arguably more important than a striker this summer. Neither Partey or Jorginho are young enough to be kept around when the core of this team hits their prime.
>>
>>140321885
Problem is zubimendi is far too weak physically. Partey really is one of a kind
>>
>>140321674
Yeah Partey when having a good game is unplayable.
>>
>>140321896
>>140321896
Partey isn't exactly strong either imo. I scrutinize Partey every single game he plays because he's my favorite Shartsenal player and I have notice he gets bodied off the ball in a way that Rice would not.
I don't know how good Zubimendi is in terms of passing compared to Partey, but if his quick progression is as good as Partey's then we need him in.

The salient feature here is QUICK progression of the ball. Partey is just the fucking puppet master when he's playing his best football. Like every pass is not only quickly executed, but it is to the most dangerous open player we have and it is always an incisive, accurate pass that is vertical.
>>
Partey's passing range is insane, he can pass from his own half into a dangerous position in the final third and he can do this like 5-10+ times a match. Maybe the best player in the league at this skill. Even Jorginho who is a deep-lying passing specialist isn't close.

but his powers are fading. he started the game today amazingly strong, our best player, and faded a lot after 30 minutes. I think his body and his legs are breaking down this year. it randomly happens to many athletes turning 30. it even happened to TiTi, by the time he was 32 he couldn't sprint anymore. also he's Ghanaian he might even secretly be 32/33+ already.
>>
>up 5-0
>can't get a cameo off the bench

it might be over for nketiah bros. I'm not sad about it but he's a good guy, would have been nice if the project worked out and he became a 15 goal a season squad player. oh well, team needs to move on from him and reiss nelson
>>
>>140322118
>>140322118
I agree with every thing you said. What I'm focused on going into the summer is "who can replace Partey as our elite deep lying ball progresser? "

People are talking about Zubimendi, who I frankly don't know much about. Who are some other deep lying midfielders in the market who are really good at quick, incisive passing?

I don't know what's going on with ESR. He was one of the key players to igniting this Arteta project around 21/22. The song was 'Saka and Emile Smith Rowe'. The club refused to sell him when the offers were there. I know injuries have not helped, and Odegaard/Havertz cemented themselves in that central region.

its hard to see a way back, but he has already proven he can add value to this team. maybe the team is moving beyond ESR though - a player who thrived in chaotic situations, vs a team that now controls most games
>>
>>140322305
>Who are some other deep lying midfielders in the market who are really good at quick, incisive passing?

Good question. And I dont think there is an easy answer to this. It's one of the most in-demand positions in world football, but there aren't many out there.

Barcelona signed Romeu to replace Busquets.
Ten Hag wanted De Jong but got 30 year old Casemiro
Liverpool wanted Caicedo, Lavia but ran out of options and got Endo
Chelsea's most criticised part of their team is Enzo and Caicedo who were so poor last night

So our competition is looking for players in these positions and struggling too. There's no quick fix.

I had a look online. The best players I can see in this role are Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara, Alvarez (West Ham), Palhinha, Anguissa (Napoli). Will be hard to get any of these guys on board, especially Luiz and Kamara from Villa.
Joao Gomes from Wolves looked pretty good, especially his energy levels and pressing. Whoever we sign, it will be hard to get someone who is close to Partey's physical profile and passing ability.

Ok but let's be serious, chelsea are really bad without cole palmer. They are literally cole palmer FC. These slips vs ashiton villa, wet spam and fulham are really unforgivable. And we were really wasteful in this match, realistically speaking it should have been at least 8 goals for >us if we actually finished the chances. This lack of end product and inability to kill games consistently is what seperates 2nd place from 1st.

yeah and I don’t dislike Emery, he got kind of shafted at Arsenal because everyone and everything was in turmoil and he was quite frankly also a bit in over his head. The praise he is getting is mostly deserved albeit Villa are over performing quite a bit this season and will be knocked down a few pegs next season but I fucking despise Villa and the media for portraying the Arsenal losses as some sort of managerial masterclass by Emery. The only thing that made it painfully obvious is that >we need a striker because when push comes to shove >we have no one to convert the chances >we are creating every game, no matter bad or good, it’s just the finishing that has let >us down time and time again.

Also, don't understand the negativity merchants who still think about last season, this season has been a clear improvement. Arsenal lost 6 and drew 9 when they won the league/FA Cup in 1998. Man Utd lost 5 and drew 5 when they won the league/CL double in 2008. Pep's Man City has raised the standard of football in this country so highly that it's completely warped everyone's perception of what a good team is.
>>
>>140332177
precisely. the fact liverpool got 97 points and didn't win the league in 18/19 shows how high the bar has been raised. SAF finished with over 90 points only twice out of this 13 league wins. guardiola already has 3.
>>
>>140332427
guardiola already has 3/5*
>>
>>140330854
Best thing is that saka has a "horrible" season
>>
>>140332427
and actually doing a bit of maths just for the fun of it, if you compare the last 10 years of premier league finishes to the 10 years before that, the average points per win is 91.2 (over 90) whereas the average for the 10 years prior is 88 (below 90), which tells us you need to aim for over 90 points to have any remote chance of competing in the league. and another fun comparison:

pep's average points tally from his 5 PL wins: 93.2

SAF's first/last 5: 84.2/87

SAF's overall PL winning avg: 84.7

so SAF won leagues averaging 5-10 points less than pep which is fucking insane if you think about it.
>>
>>140332620
>the last 10 years of premier league finishes
last 10 years of premier league winning finishes*
>>
>>140332620

>>
>>140332723

>>
>>140332785
Klopp has 3 major trophies in his 9 full seasons at Liverpool. A PL, FA and CL.

Arteta has an FA cup in his ~3.5 seasons (bearing in mind these are also his first seasons as a manager too).

Not taking anything away from klopp but for how highly he's rated he doesn't have the biggest trophy cabinet. If arteta goes 9 seasons with only 3 major trophies I'm sure people like you will be the first to point out how much of an underachievement that is.

Found enough leftover materials to perform micro-jinx rituals for both Liverpool and City. Something non significant that will later can become significant should happen.
>>
>>140334124
yes but he also wastes a ton of chances. he has those g/a because the team around him is feeding him but it takes him like 10 flopped chances before he takes one. elite strikers will be more efficient. if >we had someone like isak he'd have double the g/a by now.
>>
>>140334371
Believe it or not, Haaland this year wastes even more chances, while being a non presense outside of penalty box.
>>
>>140334455
sure, but generally speaking, an elite striker will take more chances. that's literally their job and their entire career. havertz is doing well but he's not a striker and has never really been one. compare him to say, watkins. he's carrying villa right now which is what an elite striker should do. we don't have that type of player. remember when van persie carried us with 25 and 30 goals back in 2010-12 when the rest of the team were shit? that's what we need.
>>
>>140334520
This is a really complex topic. Again with Halaand, Pep used to spread goals through the front line like Arteta does now, then Haaland came and scored a nasty amount of goals. But City still scores around ~90-95 goals a season. They did it before Haaland, they do it with Haaland. The only difference is one player amounts for a bigger percentage of team goals. Arsenal enters this ~90 goals a season bracket now. Will a top quality, clinical striker get it go 100+ goals a season? Maybe, maybe not.
>>
>>140334592
maybe or maybe not, but it's nice to have even a little confidence in the fact there's a career goalscorer leading the line. the hope being said goalscorer can carry the team when the going gets tough. someone who takes that half chance.
>>
>>140334520
City have played worse since they signed Haaland. Their overall team play was better even if Sterling and Jesus were missing 10 chances every match.
>>
>>140334654
he carried them to a treble so saying they've played worse is a bit of a stretch. you could probably look at it as not having to rely on such intricate football anymore when they have a lethal goalscorer to target, which they did, and did very successfully last season. he was missing piece that took them to the next level. even when he wasn't scoring the opposition defenders were scared shitless of his runs.
>>
>>140334701
He scored zero goals in the semis/finals of the FA Cup and CL, so saying he carried them to the treble is not very accurate. City winning the CL was inevitable considering they're overall the best team in Europe by some margin, they just happened to finally do it last season. I'm not one of those retards who is going to claim that he's a League 2 player when he doesn't score, but having Haaland as a sole focal point has made them easier to play against. It's why they're not getting close to 100 points now like they were a few years ago.
>>
>>140334809
>He scored zero goals in the semis/finals of the FA Cup and CL
that doesn't change the fact he was by far and way their biggest goalscorer with 54 goals in all comps, with alvarez being their second best goalscorer with 18 in all comps, and then mahrez with 16. so saying he carried them is accurate, because you don't win shit in this sport without scoring goals. it's like saying henry didn't carry arsenal for years with his goals because he never scored in a final. or that drogba is better than henry because he scored in all finals, even though he scored less goals than henry overall. everyone knows henry was way better than drogba and arsenal's successes can be attributed to him to an extent.
>>
>>140334948
Just because Guardiola now instructs his team to get most of their goals through Haaland, it doesn't mean that Haaland is "carrying" the team to a new level. They actually scored fewer goals in the league compared to the season before that (94 in 22/23, 99 in 21/22). They're at a similar level, if not slightly lower, to where they were a few years ago.
>>
>>140333927
accurate
>>
>>140335048
they were way more defensive last season. even in the matches against us they unusually sat back and tried to play on the counter. their CL match against atletico was city essentially parking the bus for the last 20 mins.
>>
>>140335147
They also conceded more goals last season (33 in 22/23, 26 in 21/22)
>>
>>140335174
fighting on more fronts does that
>>
>>140335183
City has so much squad depth that "fighting on all fronts" means absolutely nothing to them. They're perhaps that one club in the world which that applies to.
>>
I think last night showed its better to keep Partey for 1 final season at least, not going to get any decent fee for him anyway.

Rice Odegaard Partey Jorginho is 4/6 of a world class midfield options

Guimares links coming in, I guess he's number 5 and probably rely on SmithRowe/Vieira for the final spot if needed

>>140333864

especially ode, saka, white and gabriel who have played nearly every game for about 3 seasons
>>
City's away form has fallen off since they singed Haaland

Didn't win away in the CL once last season and the only top 10 team they beat away was Arsenal
>>
>>140335307
good thing laalands not playing tomorrow
>>
>>140335288
as much as I’d love a fit Partey >we won’t get one, so it’s best to cut the losses and get someone who can at least try to emulate him as soon as possible cause whoever >we sign will need at least a full season to get fully integrated.
>>
City failed to win 3 of their remaining fixtures last season (Brighton away, Spurs away, Forrest away)

Brighton game was when the title was wrapped up so let's ignore that.

Spurs will probably be out of the top 4 race by the time they play City so will probably throw the match

So it all boils down to Forest

I don't wish to sell anyone oblivious copium, but amongst the anger, poison and toxicity from the result against Bayern, one thing stands, football is vile.

There's only ever one winner and the rest of the teams (especially fans) will have delusions of grandeur of "Maybe next year."

The result and the season as a whole has been disappointing, and any criticism of what's going on is valid. But that does not give you an excuse to be an absolute idiot resorting to insults, racism and other forms of discrimination to reason with the football club and its current state.

Arseanal Football Club has been through worse, times are bad, but if we can't get behind the club we love then who are we to call ourselves fans? Who's to say if we sack Sharteta then things get even worse? It's time to take off the rose-tinted glasses of yester-decade and face reality of where Arseanal are right now.

I'm not saying that what's going on right now is acceptable.

Yes it's bad. But we have been through worse.

Sports is vile and unless you are a player, manager, or internal staff, don't put all your happiness into something you can't control. Highs and lows are a part of sport, even in relegation or worse, administration.

Also, Bill Shankly once said "Football isn't a matter or life and death. Depression is." If you are not feeling it with modern football with Twitter users selling each other snake oil, take a break, get out of it. If you're not having fun, time to look for other healthier ways to spend your time than constantly bashing your head trying to reason with a football club.

Through the sun and rain, we'll still cheer Arseanal is our name!

Arteta this era like 06-10 was the most underrated playmaker in England. Everton fans used to say he was good enough for Barcelona (bench/squad). Think he broke his leg in 09. When he played for Arsenal he was deep lying playmaker, nothing like his time in Everton

>>
>>140342229
This isn't the same City we've seen in previous years, they're a lot more jaded and reliant on certain players. Ultimately we need to win our own fixtures to even have a chance of winning the league, but if we can do that then City will get rattled and drop points somewhere along the line.

>>
>>140342378
They are literally playing 5 of the most out of form teams in the league (aside from Forest 4 of whom have nothing to play for), then Tottenham who if they are not within 3 points of Villa will absolutely roll over for them. Even if they are chasing for CL I can still see them rolling over for City. Literally WHERE are they going to drop points in this run in?

Meanwhile Tottenham will treat the game on Sunday like it's the biggest game in their history. I'm sorry but I just don't see it happening

And even IF City drop points tomorrow, seems like it would make Spuds even MORE motivated to beat us.

Sunday is going to be rough lads.
>>
>>140342618
City barely managed to beat a Chelsea team that Arsenal just battered 5-0. All we need to do is just win our remaining matches, if Arsenal fail to win the league after that then we can only hold our hands up. But those sorts of victories send a psychological blow to other teams.

the major thing in arsenal's favor is that spurs can score tons of goals. Spurs score a lot but also give up a lot and I'm not sure they can get an early 1-0 lead and expect to close out a game.

As long as arsenal don't beat themselves by making big blunders that give good shots on goal it should be a decent game for arsenal. Wouldn't be shocked if it came down to quality of set pieces though
>>
Lads...
It's Spurs.
>>
>>140343015
this, they've honestly been overperforming where they should be. Not to the extent United have who should rightfully be way lower in the table but still the gap in terms of what results they should be getting and what results they were getting was going to be a hard thing to extend the whole season.

I think PL was always going to be a stretch for them so their best chances were FA and EL but they fucked that up. TBF Xhaka and Xabi were probably going to brutalize them when they met but we never got to see that.

Maybe next year in CL

Fatigue isn't going to be an issue for them outside of Rodri and KDB. Best hope is a draw from Fulham or Forest.
