FTP test yesterday and the results are frankly grim.

A winter full of Z2/Z3 work and rare Zwift racing has resulted in zero gains aside from endurance base. I was hoping I still had some lingering noob gains...

Well, I just need to buckle down and do some hard intervals and do some fucking work

>It’s not all doom and gloom. The Olympic Games are returning this summer. A city-centre circuit around Paris will have an unfamiliar look compared to what we’re used to seeing on the final day of the Tour. Say farewell to the Champs-Elysées and hello to the cobble climb of Montmartre.

>Cobble climb, you say? Expect to see Van der Poel targeting this with laser-like precision. And he rarely misses when he’s locked on target. Alongside a devilish Dutch team, it’s hard to imagine any scenario where someone else wins.

Devilish dutch team lmao they're going to have 3 riders.

>>
I agree with Not me-Bert. Romandie sucks
>>
>>140377496
Also CX bikes are kinda shit at anything that isn't CX. Super high BBs, often not that much tire clearance, mega aggressive steering geometry. Of course it's great for cross, but for any other use it's shit. Especially when you start having road bikes with more tire clearance.
>>
>>140378984
>often not that much tire clearance
well, yes. the UCI limit is 33mm so no need for more
>>
>>140378984
My cross bike has 45mm tyre clearance. Planning to put gravel tyres on it.
>>
>>140379138
It's not even the tire clearance that makes them awful for everything but CX. They often have steering geometries that are more aggressive than road bikes. They also have very high BBs. Which is what is needed from a CX race bike. Of course there are some CX bikes with less extreme geometries because they're made more as general use bikes than race bikes, these bikes also often have more tire clearance.
>>
>>140378923
You’d think these small pancake races would be contested like crazy by the chaff because no Poggy or Jonas but no gotta defend that 9th spot on the GC!!!

>>
Nys not being taken to a grand tour this season? I find that to be a terrible decision. The Trek young riders are treated like shit. He's doing Wallonie instead. A number of top quality youthful breakaway merchants with carte blanche would be absolutely based and 100% they would get multiple wins.
>>
>>140379518
>Nys not being taken to a grand tour this season?
The longest race he's done in his career was Avenir. Every other race has been 5 stages + prologue or shorter. I don't think he's ready for such an abrupt jump

As in general contender? Of course he won't. He's a Quinn Simmons jr.

>>140379568
>>140379621
Surf wheels and take it easy, treating the race as a couple of one day races. I don't think it's a massive jump for him, maybe in experience but he's clearly got the legs for it. Simmons has gone to the tour twice and he's less than a year older. First one he look magnificent and PCS says he had 5 days in the break.... still finished.
>>
>>140379629
I remember Sagan was suffering tremendously through this. well, anyway, the whole idea of grid start was incredibly dumb and embarrassing. they hyped it so much and then the peloton is just gathered together anyway in few minutes

Is my bicycle good? It’s a 2016 Cannondale Caad8 105. I bought it in 2016 and only road about 10 times because I had a career change and became very busy and also into motorcycles, my life is different now and I sold my motorcyle. I would like to begin riding this bicycle like crazy starting Sunday, I used to know about bicycles and riding but forgot everything when I got into motorcycles. Tell me what to do please and also I will be riding 13 miles in one direction and 13 miles back so 26 miles on the bike path on Sunday, also if you would like I will post a picture of my bicycle and gear that I had bought in 2016 but only used 10 times. Thanks

I’m not a bot lol, this is the stuff pic related. I plan on bringing 2 eggs + 2 bananas, an ice coffee in 1 water bottle and water in the other bottle. Also I think I will bring 1 tube and one of those plastic things for take off a tire + a patch kit and the little co2 gun with 1 cartridge. It will be from 55*f to 62*f when I go on the 26mil ride Sunday but it’s by the ocean on bike path, thinking about wearing the full pants and jersey with the undershirt long sleeve. Does this sound good ? I really did actually forget what I’m doing since 2016 lol.

I’ve returned from riding my 2016 Cannondale Caad8 105, things went very well indeed. I was able to travel in total 25.5 miles in 2 hrs and 4 minutes, For supplies I only brought 1 hard boiled egg, 1 banana, 4 tic tacs, 1 12 oz water and 1 12 oz ice coffee. There was no danger, it was all very good. Pic related is my Strava.

Top favourites include the Finnish national champion Antti-Jussi JUNTUNEN, Nicolas GRÖNLUND, Kimmo KANANEN and the local crowd favourite Kalle TOIVANEN. The race is the first part of a stage race that will finish tomorrow with Simo Klimscheffskij'n Muistoajot, a race I will also be racing (in a lower category).
