Elthunder is fine, you could reasonably change it out for a debuff like edge break or sustain like mend (in the case that you do run self heal push and want to heal teammates while you are dead) but elthunder is perfectly fine.Heres two sample spreads, you can replace the color magic with anything you wish like tetra wind over tetra fire for example. One uses wind strike and push on moon phase to dodge cross attacks or reposition yourself for player phase attacks. The other uses pulls to help your teammate survive while you spam basic attacks.Summon staff flier is there solely to box in ranged shadow players so you can cut off their movement at the start of enemy phase to blank their attack. Its a good 2 in 1 tech that puts another body on the field while stopping them from retreating from you. My strategy with light carina is almost always to use wind strike or pull skills to bring myself closer to the boss and bludgeon them to death so their cooldowns are longer. I spend very little time using offensive spells.

But the vast majority of good chapters people love are more a result of external features than the map design itself. People love Ch.17 of Engage, the Kill 6 Bosses chapter. But that's because you fight you fight 6 motherfuckers amped up 'member berries. The actual map is more kinda open and aimless and annoying to walk through thanks to the all the fire tiles.Quality maps in FE are more a combination of objective, gimmicks, enemy composition, memorable moments, and alllll the way down is the actual design and flow of the level. These aren't platformers, good maps don't necessarily need to play to the strengths of the core mechanics of the game. And even then, most people just view a good map as just...that. Like good sound design or good UX. It's not something meant to be treated as the BIG thing, just something you catch you know something is fucked or wasting too much of your time. Awakening for example is one that just have a lot of bad maps with no core conceit than just 50 dudes in a square. And the mechanics just don't hold that up beyond genetics. But again, I see something like Radiant Dawn and think "damn, what are the good maps that isn't just the second Dunce Brigade vs. Greil Mercenaries fight?"
