Granblue is FACTUALLY flawed, it's literally a flawed game from head to bottom, ArcSys wanted to streamline inputs, streamline special moves, streamline meter usage, streamline defensive option and streamline mechanics but in the end made some characters bypassing every rule they have set for themselves. Beginners will come, see easy inputs, see autocombos, see 4 special per characters, see throw tech with any buttons and be interested, then they will hop into a match and get a 35 hit combo in round start from a CH 66L by either Lancelot, Nier, Abel, Grimnir or Seox, sometimes the combo will be 10 hit but delete their hp bar even more like Sieg, Vas or Belial. They didn't thought it through, at this point it feels like they actively want their game to be unsucessful, too bad considering behind this main gameplay issue everything else from the graphics to the content is the best there is.

My thoughts after finally playing with the Bea nerfs:Of course she can still win. Less, obviously, but she’s still fine. I reiterate my earlier position that she’s somewhere in the Vira/Narm/Anila/Soriz wad of characters now. Good, but nothing special.But more than that. The biggest thing to me is how she just feels like a “Granblue character” now. Like, in a bad way. I got incredibly addicted to playing her when she launched because she DIDN’T feel like just another character. She felt snappy, responsive, threatening, she felt like an ACTUAL rushdown character. I was hopeful that Bea was an indication that they were going to continue increasing the power level of the game, and it made me excited for the future of the game. But apparently that’s not the case. Or maybe it is, and Bea just got singled out for the nerf hammer for some inscrutable reason. Who fucking knows.This game is just kinda mediocre on a fundamental level. Bea broke the mold; she was actually REALLY fun, the most fun I’ve had with a fighting game in recent memory. The interesting thing about Strive is that they pissed off and alienated a lot of their old fans, but they were also able to successfully cultivate a new fanbase at the same time. These new fans were fiercely loyal to the game and completely supported the new direction for the series. It’s a really great case study in how to pivot to a new market.Rising pissed off its old fans but also did a poor job of bringing in new fans. Too anime for people who loved vanilla, not anime enough for people who like faster games. It tried to walk a middle ground of being everything to everyone, and ended up pleasing no one. Which explains the state of the game today.
