I think its kinda funny how all the current games are so focused on offense, I get that they wanted the game to be less defensive at higher level and in the words of the famous Daigo "If the best move you can make is to do nothing, thats a problem with the game design" but swinging so hard around the other side by making the arguably easiest part of fighting games (offense) better and even easier kinda made those games volatile and even less interactive, in tekken if you have a strong string character you can knowledge check the ever living fuck out of 90% of the playerbase and get to tekken king and higher by simply mashing into people hoping they don't know your string gimmicks and kill them really fast, defending agains that shit takes knowledge and recognition and reactions which are only built slowly while just string mashing is easy pickup from the get go, so we have a lot of tekken kings and gods who have no fucking defense and just play plain ugly ass tekken mashing strings and big moves in the hopes of just catching the other person, at no point do they block just outmash the other person.Lower level tekken is really ugly right now, at least high level tekken is still somewhat stable, people who are supposed to win still win which you can't say for street fighter which has suffered more from this philosophy shift, that games just volatile at all levels retard rushing is robbing low and high level players alike, we see random niggas demolish established pros only for the random nigga to then vanish forever and new mashing randoms take their place.
