I am happy to see that NPCs appear in player's hideout. With how tone deaf the rest of the game is, I didn't expect GGG to do something right. It's important that NPCs are no li ger tied to locations, but rather to the player, signifying that the player is important for the game's world.

The gameplay loop is you defeating acts on each difficulty Diablo 2 style, but there is ways to skip that almost entirely and go straight to Ultimate difficulty(the equivalent of D2's hell). One system is basically rifts from Diablo 3, the other is an endless wave mode where you have to survive or have your progress reset. There also totems to farm throughout the game's world that drop very good loot. They are going to flesh the endgame out more with the new expansion, but just dropped a big QoL update two weeks ago.
