Alright I have tried and I have failed. I rolled a blood mage, went ice magic through the campaign, got super bodied at maps, and have respecced multiple times. I'm now trying to do lightning spells for clear so I can actually do maps, but my single target damage is utter dog water. I pathed into elemental damage, damage to enemies with ailments, and freeze buildup. I can clear the trash relatively easily with Arc, Lightning Teleport, and the orb of storms. But put me in front of a boss or a rare and it's like I'm tickling. It's possible to do if I lock in but I'm hardly facerolling and this is in T1-2 maps at level 71. How the hell do you get to gigablowup damage? Even if I went entirely into lightning damage on the passive tree I don't think I'd have the dps. I don't get how people are getting to these insane 7k+ when my arc is at like 2.5k.
How much should I invest into a build that's amazing at mapping if it sucks at bossing?

Any crossbow chads here? Here's a tip drop your fucking galvanic sharts, the frag rounds are just better, they do actual hit damage instead of the whatever the fuck the galvanic chain lightning is meaning they A. actually apply shock to the enemies and B. still work in single target rather than having to switch to your bow or die trying to charge the plasma blast. Frag rounds with an electric crossbow are a really solid way to shock a rare/boss before gunning it down with Shockburst rounds without need for any additional bullshit like plasma, bow or electric shards/grenade whatever, and if they might appear a bit lame at first they come with free pierce AND you have chain off the walls on the tree, so just add accelerate and get some proj speed on your jewels, that will get them bounce over the entire arena and offscreening the mobs out there. Shotgun = best gun.

Overall I am enjoying the game, but I did not enjoy this. It wasn't hard. Just very, very time consuming and kinda tedious. Plus, unnecessarily stressful. The Wildwood packs are gonna be the equivalent of the wisp because you'll probably get 30% more tribute from 2 full packs at every altar, anyway. All of which can be upgraded to Magic or Rare via the Invitation node4 altars is shit, Wisp is shit, deferrals is only good if you already have an invitation in the shop you're targeting. So once you rule out the mandatory 2 omen/invitation nodes and the extra pack which basically gives enough tribute to match all the others for less point, you're only left with more rerolls to hunt for invitations or more tribute in hopes they still have the more tribute = better shit mechanic
Act 4 5 and 6 will fix all the problems with the game. It will also make Blood Mage viable.

Meanwhile you're going to be clicking the reroll but every other map for 40+ straight maps without even being in the right tier. It is not gambling. 0% x 100 attempts is still 0%. High roll gaze is around 2 divs and for belt go for Midnight Braid Rawhide Belt snag a good one for like 2-3 exalts. The rest of the gear is rares for mana, ES, int, mana regen, lightning/spell damage and resists. I'd say 30 exalts per slot.And then a lot of potential to upgrade like high roll Ingenuity Belt for 30 divs, high roll Mahu with 3 sockets for 20+ divs etc.
