I just finished talking about quest design, Im moving on to gameplay now, like unlocking mechanics, weapon scaling, the stance meter, stats for non-weapon damage, stat softcaps, etc. The ultimate point Im making is that there is no way to enjoy Elden Ring blind - either exploration is a genuine surprise but a bunch of shit is hidden from you, or you look up what you need to know beforehand and spoil the game. The Moonveil is so fucking boring. I've tried to use it several times and get bored out of my mind after an hour or two, it's not even that strong. No idea why it gets fellated so hard. If you want to use an edgy katana Rivers, Star-Lined, and Sword of Night are all much more fun and stronger. Even if it's the unsheath style ash you're after, Nagakiba does that job much better. Gf got me this for Christmas because I like the Armored Core games and she saw it's the same developer. I let her make the character since I don't really know anything and she made an astrologer. I got the Meteorite Staff, Rock Sling, and a Lazuli Glintstone Sword (third kill dropped) per nearly every YouTube early game astrologer guide which helped kill Godric but even with 40 int every single fight has been a war of attrition. Am I still too early game where the skills just suck or is this on par for mage builds?

What setttings do you guys use for the randomizer? I started my first randomizer run with 20% bias but it feels a bit stupid because i found great stars, wild strikes, verdigris armor and a bunch of good stuff right at the beginning of the game so i pretty much already have my build.
