The trucker problem in America/Canada is reaching a crisis point and it's crazy how normies have no idea how bad it is and don't even acknowledge the problem. They all still seem to think that truckers are predominantly middle-aged white guys whose entire life revolves around engines. In reality I would estimate probably 70-80% of CDLs on the road today are either illegal spics who don't actually have a CDL and are driving illegally (and badly at that) or some fucking pajeet that was simply given a CDL at one of the fraud schools. I never used to get nervous around semis when I was younger because I knew most of those guys had been on the road longer than I'd been alive. Nowadays I try to give them as wide a berth as possible because I know there's probably some third world retard behind the wheel who doesn't even know how to drive

Tried out my bag with a load of stuff in it. Makes me sit further forward than I'd like, so need to pack it to be more upright and less bulbous. Braking feels slightly less effective although the bag is only 13kg. Handling is mostly the same but is a bit weird on bumpy roads. Seemed well attached after an hour of fast country roads and a bit of motorway in what I would call medium wind.

>>27602628
I have a Quantum-X and an RF-1400. The Shoei is a little quieter, but I realized that it actually doesn't matter because I now wear earplugs every time I ride anyway. They are both comfortable and well made, but I personally prefer the Arai because it is more comfortable to get on and off than the Shoei due to the shape of my head. The pad quality in the Arai is a bit better, and I've come to like their visor system even if it's a bit whacky at first. After owning both, I will probably buy Arai in the future but will absolutely still recc Shoei. Just try both and buy the one that fits better.

I only ever used the straps to grab when putting it on, and my experience with the lads has been the opposite. The pads never come loose in my Arai, but one of the pads in my Shoei comes loose almost every time I take it off. Maybe it's out of spec. Also, I think my Cardo fits more nicely in my Arai and it was easier to route the cables ot of the way, but the speaker pockets in the shell on the Shoei is a nice touch. I think they're really pretty equivalent and it's down to a matter of preference.

The biker to the right did exactly what he was supposed to an did ot very well. Was there a reasonable expectation that a truck wouldnt be in your lane? Yes. But this is a risk implicit in getting on a motorcycle. I went for a brief ride today and almost got slammed by a durango right after I almost got hit by some blimd fucker merging simply cause the driver probably had to take a bad shit. What was supposed to be a 20 minute ride around roads I know very well almost turned into a hospital bill. This biker knew what was at stake.

Is riding a huge bike like that a hazard when it comes to this shit?
I don't wanna victim blame but I could have easily swerved around this truck
>>
>>27602777
>I could have easily swerved around this truck
I'm sure the fact that they came around a blind curve and suddenly were faced with the front end of a semi in the wrong lane had more to do with them hitting it then the maneuverability of the bike. That's just not something you ever really expect to see and they didn't react quick enough
>>
>>27602777
Possibly but the real problem (aside from the driving of the truck) was the lack of visibility due to the trailer home obstructing the view, leaving only approximately 2 seconds to react, if the bikers didn't realize something was wrong during a small visual window of opportunity between the blind corner and behind trailer home. The other problem is state of mind, were you running on auto-pilot slowing reaction time or are you in amber-alert mode? Lots of factors in a situation like that

There's a very small moment after the blind curve and behind the motor home where the bikes have visibility but your average person wouldn't realize something is wrong within that short window of opportunity. You can see for a brief moment that the bikers are visible right before the trailer home, that means the truck was visible to the bikers

Ride something agile instead of a garbage barge bagger then look ahead. Not hard. Baggers are bought by people wanting to show off their wallets and most recent bagger owners barely ride the things and have never seriously practiced emergency maneuvers.

Most riders period don't practice evasive maneuvers. My wife ran her Shovelhead through the USAF MSF course faster and smoother than many crotch rocket owners.

I was alive when the US was much paler and it was a vastly better place in ways callow youth cannot imagine. The pre-WWII Asshole Generation ruined that long before boomers had any power. Thank LBJ in particular.

It was also the golden age of motorcycling when needing technical competence filtered the faggots and traffic was vastly less even in cities.

I remain unsmashed after 46 years of riding because I do not outrun my vision or braking distance and never squid. No curve is blind if you slow the fuck down.

Having ridden a large variety of personal and customer bikes there are very good reasons I do not rock an 800lb bagger with shit ground clearance. Most two-party crashes are the fault of the cage operator but being legally right and physically splattered is not an optimal outcome. The only things you can control as a rider are what you ride and how yo ride it. HDs can handle and stop decently but not carrying the equivalent of an extra passenger in chrome baubles helps greatly. That's why my daily since 1988 has been my FXR (currently getting a V124/Baker six speed for grins) or my 1994 FXR though I've other light bikes like my Sporties, Shovels, Nortons (the lightest by far of course),Triumph Trident etc.

Ever wonder why used baggers sell cheap? It's because their owners tire of riding a two-wheeled car. In times of yore (when baggers looked good naked) chopping slashed weight and was itself a performance upgrade but far fewer owners today wrench and their rides are basically Winnebago equivalents they take to their Taj Mahal HD dealer to get assraped for the most basic service. That's also why they wreck baggers frequently on Tail of the Dragon (which really is just a green overly tight shit mountain road with few runoffs which became a meme and was at least fun before it got crowded).

>Most people are casual riders

Yes, and their ignorant refusal to take a serious subject seriously gets them killed on the reg. Physics does not care if you're a casual.

It's objectively wrong to be a casual because that's less performant and dangerous. I know far more about every aspect of motorcycling than you do because I made the effort. You cannot support your opinion with testable facts, logic and reason so you fail to support it at all.

"Hurr, durr, I'm exempt from learning because I'm too lazy and stupid" will continue to kill and cripple morons who think like you do. Responsibility for a crash is only relevant in court. Is it better to be legally correct and splattered or thorough, competent and disciplined and not killed by the next idiot you meet on the road.
>>
>>27602922
That's fine but do you make the effort to handle them with max proficiency? Also that's barely a bagger because no fairing or tour pack (the wiser choice with which I agree).

Nice pic bc bro
Finally got a new exhaust I see, or I'm finally noticing it.
I need new tires already and this is my third set.
I got the motoz tractionators and like them offroad but the front tire is shit on the highway and scalloping hard. Causing lots of vibrations in the front.
I think I might go back to scorp rally str on the front and keep the tractionator on the rear for as long as it lasts. Still lots of life left.
How do you like the tractionator GPS? maybe I should get the gps for my front tire.

When I get my new tire on I'm down to go for a mainland ride.

Head on with that much speed and mass involved you'd be dead even in a car. A side sliding impact maybe but that would depend completely on how you get thrown off and such.
Still If I was in that situation I'd rather have those than not.

pretty much, sport bikes are actually safer in the sense they have better handling, braking and acceleration however the acceleration is so powerful nobody focuses on braking or turning so they die a lot more than cruiser people.

> suzuki days
What's the difference between these "<brand> experience days" and usual testrides?
>>
I want a 600. My 300 is not doing it for me anymore.
>>
>>27604111
>more people
>at least one brand representative that actually know what he's talking about
>free baubles, sometimes
>at least one boomer WILL "lay 'er down" at sub-10kph

Sounds like a good time.

side lugs are hardly used, so it looks like you just ride around on hard ground/dirt, so why buy a new tire for that? If you are asking about a tire that beat, then its fine for your riding style and riding frequency. If you know someone who races or rides a lot you can get or buy cheap used tires from them and save a lot of money.

But how will everyone know how serious i am if i dont ride a GSA with full kit of hard luggage.
>>
>>27604131
Well I already have the new tire. And yes I ride on desert and mountainous terrain, which is a lot of sharp hard bedrock, gravel, sand, and just generally dry rocky sharp stuff.

Bro just get a 1390 or else you'll just be in the same boat again in 6 months.

Is this motorcycling content for retards or something? The benefit of power in an adv is so you can ride on the road better, not so you can spin the your faster when dumping the clutch in loose terrain.
>>
>>27604142
A gsa with full hard luggage is just a goldwing you can take camping.
The hard luggage part is mostly to protect your shit from nogs and gipsies.

where i am from most dealerships don't have dedicated test bikes. you might get to ride a used one but seldom a new one or the dealer buys one extra and uses that as his test bike and sells it 1-2years later for a special price.
on this suzuki days the suzuki representives drive around the country with a trailer full of bikes and just let people test them.

>>27604125
and what he said
>>
>>27604177
Welcome to the ADV world. Everyone has their own opinions on whats the ideal ADV bike and everybody else is wrong and should feel bad.
>>
trying to buy a dirtbike is the stupidest shit ever
a mix between
they want more than a new bike but list it for $1
they put $1234 in the ad and want to trade
its got a blown engine and they want $3000
or there is no title and the price seems somewhat reasonable

legit about to buy an amazon special

my VFR let me down today, was standing around a busy intersection. in 30minutes only one car stoped and ask if i need help. she was a legit milf. asked if i need help or a lift. politely declined both since i already called the roadside support. but she gave me her number "just in case".

I'll think o call her up and invite her to a nice cup of morning coffee at my place. wish me luck anons
>>
>>27604203
>says his VFR let him down
>gets number from a hot milf
but did it really let you down, or did it know exactly what it was doing?
>>
>>27604113
go bigger, i got a jap i4 600 after riding a hurley vtwin 1200 for 10 years and it feels weak as shit. all i need it for is wheelies but its a letdown after hearing newfags talk them up since forever
>>
>>27604208
Spin the engine up.
>>
>>27604196
Stop being poor and just buy a new one, dirt bikes are cheap as fuck relatively speaking

Damn vfr bro, at least you might get some tail. My 6th gen stalled on me last week a couple times but I think it's because my rpms were too low. Turned up the idle knob and she's been right ever since. Still I know the feel of a beloved bike letting you down. Also glad I have roadside on my insurance kek.
>>
>>27604231
even at 9-14k rpm the r6 engine is powerful for sure but it feels tame, good for my needs but if i was big into sportbikes or rocket acceleration i'd just go bigger

>but did it really let you down, or did it know exactly what it was doing?
was thinking the same after posting... seems like my VFR became a wingbike. sorry i doubted.

turns out the milf is into bikes, ofcourse she is. gonna pick her up on friday afternoon, she is looking forward to "dress in leather and have a 2up ride" she said also has an "old lady i should testride if i am up for it" (translation issues might apply)

wondering what it could be......
oh and the viffer works again, turned out the reserve petcock aint working anymore and i just basically ran out of gas even though i had the reserve fulll

New mexico?
how do you guys ride at constant 80f+?
>>
>>27604397
Where do you live that 80f is hot?
>>
>>27604404
Ya, even in Michigan 80f isn’t considered hot.
>>
>>27604395
preferably two layers, and a lamb in between
>>
>>27604397
Vegas actually. Not really something I actively think about when I ride when its 100+ degrees f out in the summer. Normally though, I try to avoid traffic when possible so i'm constantly moving, but that was when I had to commute for work.
Nowadays, I avoid day rides in the summer unless absolutely necessary or I get that itch. Otherwise, night rides are where its at when it isnt cold season.

What mirrors are you rocking in the vid?
>>
>>27605710
I smashed one mirror on a drop months ago and happened to have a generic mirror at home I could slap on til I got a new set.
I think these are the ones
https://fortnine.ca/en/bikemaster-folding-mirror-10mm-universal-end-u
They have a pretty narrow FOV compared to the stock ones and are very buzzy at high speeds. But I like how far out they are so I see less of my shoulder than the stock ones, and I kinda like how they look.
This was supposed to be a temp fix but now its been over half a year. I'm thinking about getting double takes but if they are as buzzy as these, I'll just get another stock mirror. Or just stick with this asymmetrical setup until the left mirror breaks.
>>
>>27605727
Thanks man. The two mirrors i currently have on my klr both have a weird zoom and i can't see anything in them above 60kph.
>>
>>27602348
we need total pajeet death for this... fuck i cant believe these fucking 60iq cunts are allowed on the road.
>>27602454
You're a faggot if you wouldn't stand for your brother just murdered by some fucking turd world cunt.
