I really like how much player agency there is in GU, there really is no reason to dump all your resources into attack if it's going to put you in a bad position or a bad angle, it's better to dance around with the monster trying to hit certain parts . In World you lose half your dps if you don't use your super attack. GU has a really clean style of play, easily the best MH.

It's interesting to see how the free-form hunting quest mechanics have evolved over the series. Moga Woods to the Everwood to the Guiding Lands are all cool ways of adding a little something extra to the typical mission based format, and it looks like Wilds is taking it even further with the pseudo open world thing. MH has been MH for decades now so I've got faith in the team, just hope it feels good in practice.

I think the only thing that beats it straight up is silverlos past like 800-900 element if I remember right, but you're sacrificing a lot of slots and stuff to do that. The thing about safi weapons is that you can customize them to be the best weapon outside of fatalis if you don't want to use that for some reason.
