The dragon kills me in three hits. I am using the final hp boosting talisman. If you'll notice I have over 50% damage reduction to physical and around 50% damage reduction to both fire and lightning (I also use the damage reduction flask tear, so those resistances will be even higher when I'm fighting it). Sometimes I iframe an attack but then the lightning explosion randomly hits me before I can possibly take any action. Why do they have to do so much damage? You don't fight the boss. You die repeatedly until you get perfect sequences and memorize every single attack. It feels exactly like those monster hunter speedrun videos where everything is perfectly choreographed, but it is in no way organic.I am finding that each new boss just annoys me more than the last.

Some part of my disappointment with the final boss is that it's literally just Radahn. It isn't like a special version of him or anything. If you took any damage at all during their 5 minute long damage segment you will probably use this opening to heal because all damage will either one shot you or take more than 50% of your hpI just beat Messmer and I've been trying to clear every boss in the DLC (So far have done Divine Beast, Mother of Fingers, Putrescent Knight, and Midra) and I am just not enjoying this DLC. I still intend on finishing it but jesus christ. I genuinely think the best bosses in the game have been the first Morgott, Godwyn, and pretty much everything not in Leyndell or the Haligtree.Once you get to the endgame and DL content the difficulty just stops being fun. It gets to a point where the difficulty changes from fun to "you must wait 5 minutes dodging and healing before being able to get 1 hit in".

The easiest way to illustrate the disparity between current Miquella and the original plan for him is that in his cut dialogue he calls Malenia "my dear twin"/JPN:"beloved younger sister", while in the DLC, he dehumanizes her by just calling her "my loyal blade" while praising Aeonia and giving no regard to the trauma it caused her. I could almost give it some credit for illustrating his loss of humanity on the way to godhood... but that contrast only works if the other ending isn't cut

The player combat in Elden Ring is not adequate for the enemies you face. It does not offer an compelling; skill based experience like Sekiro and Bloodborne did. You are being frustrated into trying to get damage in after watching the boss do a series of acrobatics for 15 seconds only to get slammed by a combo extension that is intentionally designed to catch you out when you get sick of waiting around. This is not fun! This is the main point I am making with this review, it's not that it's "too hard for me", The INTENDED way to fight these bosses in this game IS NOT FUN!I'll get into this more below...The difficulty at this point simply boils down to the bosses tricking you into rolling too early or late and then frame catching (roll punishing) you for not getting a frame perfect roll, a roll that has input delay on it as it only occurs after the button has been released, meaning that the roll is based on prediction instead of reaction in many cases as the bosses delay an attack only to release it instantly. I also have noticed that many time the hit-boxes seem appear before the weapon is actually swung... This means you HAVE to learn each individual boss's timings on so many of their attacks to avoid them. Rubbish! Sekiro fixed this already ffs and made it happen on press as well as having the reaction based deflect system.In the past the way you'd avoid these delayed attacks is by outflanking them; but they now give most of these bosses near infinite tracking on their attacks FORCING you to time a dodge the way the devs want, and some of these attacks have way to many active frames so they will automatically hit you even if you roll into them. Insane!

DS3 had a wildly different and much better story originally, and it was a much better fit for the series and as a conclusion, but it all relied on things that From wasn't happy with/couldn't pull off. OG DS3 relied on the DS1-style interconnected world, world-tendency events and event based NPC quests, Aldrich being a water-type boss that From can't ever get right, horse travel for certain areas, and the Gael/Oscar/SoC hybrid quest that carried for the entire story. None of it worked, so From went with a completely different game for DS3 that was easier to make, and we got DS1+2 instead.
