She has a google form that you fill out, you give her some contact info, she reaches out when she's got time for it, and then estimates the cost (floof does it on a per hour rate). Then usually you pay half up front and then half after the final sketch. It can take a long time (Floof is great but almost always like at least 3 weeks to a month late to deliver) but so long as you're normal and don't freak out at people, everything goes pretty smoothly. YMMV for other artists, though.

A lot of the mundane "boring" parts of art is actually when new artists cut their teeth. Replacing it by AI stunts their growth, meaning you end up with more mediocre art. AI is then trained on that mediocre art worsening the issue until eventually no new art is made at all and AI becomes entirely reliant on itself to enlarge it's trainingset.
