What are some unique ideas for a First Contact scenario between modern day Humans and advanced space faring aliens? I mean both your original ideas that you would find interesting or ones you've seen in various established media.I'm struggling to think of an example like this and I'm sure it already exists, but I want more stories about aliens being genuinely benevolent and wanting to help humanity while having no ulterior motives. Almost every piece of sci-fi media involving non-space age humanity has them be genocidal world conquerors or indifferent observers, so a movie, book or series about aliens showing up and just being helpful for no reason other than a desire to help would be really novel.

Naturally, the cooperation of mankind and the other alien species become inextricably linked. Yes- cross species romance is commonplace.

As in if there was some kind of galactic community do you think most aliens would be some kind of mammal, avian, reptile, insectoid, etcetera, etcetera.
