I can't remember a "elf path" option other then not touching Val and being polite and attentive to Alaina. I have posted about it before but a good vs evil elf path would be great - enslave Val but do it from an Elven King pov. You could lead the change in Elven culture by making it more militaristic and violent as to make them able to compete with humanity and the other races. Like with that one flashback/dream showing the humans raiding an elven villa because the elves didn't think to expect it.

I think part of my issue is that the elf path in this case feels just like the normal republic path with an addendum, as though it were a branching choice in a different path rather then it's own thing.
