Is it normal for youths of our generation to be more likely to fail at attaining independence in adulthood? My parents were in the prime of their lives in the 80s and they never seemed to have problems securing a reasonably paying job and home for themselves. Is it my fault for not being able to do the same? Is it just me being stupid, lazy etc. etc.?I'm not looking for pats on the back or a circlejerk, just give it to me straight, is it me, us folks now in their 20s and 30s who are just bad at being adults or are the odds worse now than what our parents had 40 years ago? How did it come to this

>>34552641I feel it. I got a degree and a job and an apartment I pay a mortgage for and I still feel like a teenager. It's one of the reasons I'm moving abroad and forcing myself to be more than my dad, so I don't rely on him. Get a car, sort taxes, all the other stuff. Hopefully I'll become more of a man.
