I think the most important thing is reflecting on what you need from a potential friend. When feeling isolated it's easy to cast far too wide a net and just hope for the best instead of being intentional about who you add (like going solely off common interests instead of focusing on personality traits) or how you present yourself if you're posting in contact threads, a bit of vulnerability often goes a long way in my experience. The better you know yourself, the easier it gets to find people that complement you. I'm looking to meet new people atm so I'd be down to talk if you need a friend, but I'm also getting the sense that I'm most likely 5-10 years older than you based on how you describe your peers. :p
I have been using 4chan for over 10 years and i have never even tried to make a friend on here. When i was 15 I used to e date a girl and I learned the hard way that online "relationships" are bullshit. There are some people i talk to on discord but its only because I met them by association of real life friends. I kinda want to make friends online because im kinda isolated but at the same time it feels so surface level and too drama filled.
