I have been trying to find ways to improve my overall gut health. Sometimes I feel really good and other days I feel like shit(heh). But I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with my gut. Like today I had explosive diarrhea for the first time in a very long time. Very uncomfortable. Not sure what even did this to me. Nearly 2 and a half hours on the toilet. I don't know if I am gluten allergic or lactose or have IBS or whatever. Some days my bowel movements are fine and other days its near diarrhea but semi-solid I'd say. I don't know what I am not getting enough of or too much of. A sample of my diet for a day:Breakfast: Usually a fucking toaster pastry or something unfortunately. Want to stop eating theseLunch: Most healthy meal I'd say. Usually chicken leg with rice and some red beans and onions.Dinner: Unfortunately also semi-dogshit. Sometimes I have a sandwich. Other times I have oatmeal or a cereal. I just want proper bowel movements and not fear potentially having diarrhea randomly. I am so mad that I had it recently because I can't even pin point what caused it.
>>34553157More fiber
>>34553157Eat more fibre (swap your bread to whole wheat or rhy), and batch cook yourself some lentil based food with some savory (herb) and then freeze portions of it for dinner.Buy some plain yogurt here and there and eat it with your oatmeal or cereal.
>>34553169>>34553250So I get that more fiber is good but one thing about my bowels is that I am never constipated. I can't remember the last time I was ever constipated. However, I frequently have loose or soft stool. Does more fiber still help here? I thought fiber just softens stools? But I really don't want softer stool. If anything, I want harder stools.
>>34553282It does both. Softens hard ones and firms up soft ones.
>>34553157I get nice solid shits when I eat stuff like steak with a side of vegetables am well hydrated and exercise (doing light cardio for like 30-45 minutes is fine) Do you play sports? I think the main thing to do is write down what you ate today in Chatgpt and ask it to calculate your daily micros and macros. You might be lacking in something like potassium. I would also ask this in >>>/ck/.
>>34553282there are two types of fiber anon, soluble and insoluble
>>34554138Either way he wants soluble. It adds volume/mass and pulls in water so soluble fiber will soften firm stools and firm up soft stools. Insoluble fiber is exactly what it sounds like, insoluble. It'll pass through him without affecting his shits.
sounds like ibs-dit works by thresholds, little bits are fine but get too much of a certain trigger and suffer immediatelyjust look at what you had too much of when you had your diarrhoea attack and reduce the intake of whatever you had a lot of that daybeans (galactans) and onions (fructans) are big triggers, so are toaster pastries (fructose)but no way of telling unless you look at what you had before the attackexcess fibre can actually trigger ibs so unless your diet has little to no fibre, theres no reason to add more
sounds like you are an indian op
