I applied for an accounting position that is wfh on a platform called Handshake, which is typically used by college students for internships and entry-level positionsI got messaged back earlier from HR (Indian name) with a detailed job description which also described benefits and a starting pay of $49 fucking dollars an hour after the training period. There were no qualifications listed in this or the original job posting btw There was also a whole page listing working materials, including iphones, mac pcs, and a printer?? And it said that if I was hired, they would have a supervisor instruct me on how to obtain these from their "certified manufacturer" who would put all company's branding on it and install the software before sending them to me in the mail. Also that the company would reimburse me for the cost of these working materials. This part was oddly detailed, and I thought wfh jobs expected you to have your own home office and pc anyway.Lastly, the message said to create an account on an encrypted messaging app called Session and to add the company's account ID listed in the message. They said the interview would be conducted through text using this platform. I replied to the message to schedule the interview in one of the few time slots given in the message, but I haven't gotten a response. There was no calendy link or any system to schedule the interview, they just listed the time slots in the message. This is a scam, right? I mean, I got a hold of the company's website, and it's a legit construction company. It might just be Indians posing as the company on the job search platform, though
>>34561647>I thought wfh jobs expected you to have your own home office and pc anyway.None of them do. Never use your personal devices for work. Never spend your own money on equipment for work, even if they promise to reimburse you. If this is a scam, this is likely their catch.
>>34561687>Never spend your own money on equipment for work, even if they promise to reimburse you. If this is a scam, this is likely their catch.that's what it seems likeJust look at this shit, it looks like they copy pasted the first ten search results off of Walmart's electronics department
>>34561647It's 100% a scam, you'll never get reimbursed for whatever you buy
>>34561732I can smell the curry from here. Sorry it was a fake job OP. Report it and move on I guess.
>>34561647>Also that the company would reimburse meNo they won't. It's all an involved scam to get you to send money for the "working materials." They'll cash the check and disappear.
test
>>34561647Even when I was desperately looking for a job, I instablocked all Indian names. LOL. You have to be retarded to trust these fuckers. Don't even waste time reading their drivel.
