It should still hurt for a few days depending on how you move your hands, but it should heal relatively quickly, sicne it wasn't that big of a wound and it seems to be mostly superficial. Also, since it was an owned dog, there's little risk of rabies and such, but I suppose they already told you all of that at the hospital/clinic.

Keep it clean, avoid moving the hand around too much, take some painkillers to help reduce the pain if you need, but other than that, you'll be fine.

I got bit in the face when I was about 3. Had stitches in my fucking face screaming my head off. I still recall 2 traumatic images in my mind of being bit and getting stitches. If there's trauma, that gets stored in you, but memories often get repressed.

If the dog has had its rabies vaccinations you don't need rabies shots. If they hadn't then you should get rabies shots out of precaution. Back in the old days they couldn't test animals without killing them and examining their brain matter. Not sure about today.
