So I'm Orthodox Christian (from birth) 27, and a combination of improved personal factors and very blunt advice from my confessional father has made it clear that I am ready to be more intentional about finding a girl to date with marriage being the end goal, etc. This is not another "how do I get a gf thread." I maximize my time in large social groups, have interesting hobbies, am fit and never had a problem talking to women like a human being. What I *am* asking about is the issue of age gaps. I've realized that 27 is a really awkward age because girls close to my age are rare and come with much more pressure to hurry up and have kids now (I saw this in my cousins). However the <25 year old women are give off the impression that they are mature when they absolutely are not.I meet 21-22 year-olds who are pretty friendly but I can't help but be skeptical of their maturity simply because I was dumb at that age too. I know women mature faster but is it really THAT fast? By all accounts, men who wait until 25 or 30 to have a relationship do better, I don't really know what's the equivalent for women.I don't believe in the incel narrative that a young woman is worth having simply because she is young. I want a wise, strong woman who I can trust won't turn into a different person out of nowhere. Thanks for the help anons
>>34567337Yes, women mature faster, but the individual variation is so great that its not worth thinking about in your case. Most women in their early 20s will be immature, but that doesn't mean there are no mature ones. Look and you shall find, OP
>>34567337> I don't believe in the incel narrative that a young woman is worth having simply because she is young. I want a wise, strong woman who I can trust won't turn into a different person out of nowhere.it’s not an incel narrative bro.there’s science behind thislike the fact women have much shorter fertility period, they mature faster and people who marry young on average report higher relationship happiness it lessers chances of divorce etc
You're 27.Someone within 5-6 years of you is pretty average
>>34567707Large age gaps have higher rates of divorce.
>>34567769okey but 6 years is not a big agegap
>>34567337You are a man, get used to the idea of being the head of the relationship.>I don't believe in the incel narrative that a young woman is worth having simply because she is young. You are acting of ill will, that is hardly an "incel narrative". Preference for younger women is quite widespread among the male population. The main benefit of a younger woman in your case would be increasing your chances of finding one that has not been ruined by the cock carousel.>I want a wise, strong woman As a rule people become more cynical and unprincipled as they age.>won't turn into a different person out of nowhere.Date a corpse.
OP here, shall I at least shift the question to: how can I tell if a younger woman *is* emotionally mature? Despite my comment about the incel "narrative" I don't mind being with a younger girl if she is truly ready. Gauging that readiness is hard though.
>>34567769>Large age gaps have higher rates of divorce.Large age gaps where the woman is older have much higher rates of divorce. That's what they "forget" to tell you when citing that study, it didn't differentiate between whether the man was older or the woman. When examining older man/younger woman relationships in isolation, it was roughly the same as the rate for smaller age gaps. By comparison older woman/younger man marriages had astronomical divorce rates.
