Is it a scam? I only see chumps here at the donation center. Isn't it bad fir the body to lose that much blood in that short of time? My body will think I got attacked or something
>>34571441Also the head doctor there looks fucking sketchy, but it is from a big renowned institution and I'm in a first world country in Europe
>>34571441It is not a scam and unless you are already anemic or something, they don't take so much blood that it is a health issue
>>34571454Gotcha. Thanks
>>34571441unironically ask on /pol/ and just ignore the edgy tards, the autists there deep dive into these things all the time. in some countries like the one I live in, it's mostly a scam and they just sell the majority of donated blood for industrial use, plasma derived products and other things, and the blood that actually go to patients is sold at an absurd price.
>>34571460Thanks manThey didn't want my blood because I had diarrhea for 3 weeks until yesterday lmao
>>34571459It is a scam
>>34571441In my shit hole of a country if you donate blood you get a few days off from work or school. Don't know about your place.
>>34571925How? >>34573740We get some snacks
>>34571441Blood donation often means the difference between life and death for someone. Do you care about saving lives? If not, then don't bother, I guess. They will test you for anaemia, and assuming you're not anaemic, the amount they take is safe. Immediately after the donation your blood pressure will be lower than normal, which can make you prone to fainting; but your body will make up the fluid deficit within 24 hours - much faster if you drink plenty of water and eat salt. It'll take a little longer for the oxygen carrying capacity to recover, but unless you're an athlete you probably won't notice. In some cases it can actually have health benefits: if you smoke, for example, it will encourage the body to produce new red blood cells which means more of the haemoglobin in circulation is actually working rather than being knocked out by carbon monoxide.
>>34573984Niceee
>>34571441It's nice, you get to help others, and it doesn't hurt that much. They also tell you your blood type, if you didn't already know before. If you are healthy and don't partake in things that would make your blood unsuited for donation, the only things to watch for are if you are anemic, like the other anon said, and that you should avoid overexerting yourself for at least a day after donating it.
