So I started a new job on Tuesday. Its production work, easy to do. They said that I would be moved into the office because a position is open but they need to see if I'm worth putting in that position.Today they told me that I've been doing such a good job on the production floor, they think they need me more on the floor then in the office so they are going to keep me there. I know it wasn't in writing so there is nothing I can do legally. It was a struggle finding this job as it is. Should I just suck it up and be happy I have a job?
>>34572045What they're telling you is that they have finished evaluating your suitability for the office position and found you lacking.>Should IThat's up to you. There's nothing stopping you from looking for a better position while this one pays the bills.
Sorry to hear they didn't give you the position you wanted.I think a job is better than no job.
>>34572060I have more experience doing the office job than the production job. I've been running circles around the regular employees.
>>34572994>I've been running circles around the regular employees.Whether delusion or reality, this might explain it.Either you are in fact, not running circles around them, or you are and you're making everyone else look like slackers. You have to do precisely the same amount of work as everyone else. More or less works against you.
>>34574318>>34574318Apparently I did a 4 day job in a day in a half with no scrap. They are likely going to fire me because I told them if I was going to stay in production, I would need 25 an hour instead of 15 otherwise I can quit or they can give me the office position, since they want me in that position so bad. I've been in this situation before, do so good a job that I get trapped in a position with no advancement. Maybe I just need to take what I can get. I'll be dead in a couple years anyway.
