Title. It's what my mom has been shilling to me lately. While I'm not passionate about it, it's one of the few things I can see myself doing in life (depression and autism). Can anyone with experience tell me what the job's like? Half the people on plebbit say it's fine and the other half say it's shitty/stressful/hellish.My idea is working part time, around 20 hours per week. I have a lot of stuff I do on the side. I'm open to suggestions for other education/career options (nothing in technology please). The work being comfy is the most important factor; don't care for high pay. If I'm getting $5 above minimum that's enough.I recently graduated a liberal arts college program. Before that I worked at a cafe for 3 years.Male, white, 22, Canada if any of that stuff matters
accounting is a good job. if you learn it once you can do it anywhere. you get to work with excel more than people. you just make numbers line up. it’s not necessarily easy but when you get the hang of it it’s predictable. the only times it’s stressful are if you’re on deadlines for month end close. youll close off may’s books starting june 1st. some companies do short close in like 2 days. others do 1 week. that’s where you feel the pain of how organized / shitty the company is. a good company will be easy to close the books. there’s also quarter close. and year end close. but you have lots of time in between without stress. it’s a good job
