Am I really expected to have a house at 30? Because I just don't see it happening for at least another 5-10 years.
>>34573431What’s your income? You can get a loan with 1% down
I bought my house at 23, now 30. It can be done, but man its a lot of work owning a place lol. Always something to do and i recently found out i need major plumbing renovations most likely. So ill probably sell this place and move somewhere else, tired of this town anywaysI have lived alone this whole time too, which has been really nice but a bit isolating tooThese days people seem really hopeless about the prospects of home ownership but i really needed my own place to explore my hobbies more, building hot rods. I just wanted it more than most so I made sacrifices
>>34573431its not happening period bro houses are half a million dollars
>>34573818delusional faggot 'i just wanted it more than most' thats what they all tell themselves... anything to convince urself you earned it lmao... HOUSES COST HALF A MILLION DOLLARS most people are living month-to-month on a $750 apartment with roomates you're not getting a fucking HOUSE without being born into the corresponding social/economic class period. end of discussion. you bought a house at 23 because you worked hard hahaha jesus fucking christ.
>>34573431There's nothing wrong with waiting that long to actually own a home. I don't think anyone with their head on straight expects you to own a home just because you're 30. I'm 30 myself and think that's kinda ridiculous.I do think, however, that you should have an idea of what you want out of life at this point, and you should be able to sustain yourself.
>>34573431No. You are not expected to have anything at any age. That's completely unrealistic bullshit. You should save every dollar that you have.If your parents own a home you will likely inherit this home when they die, assuming that you have no siblings. So I would work on becoming independent. Literally save every tiny bit of money that you can so that you have an excess of 100,000 in the bank and then never touch that money for any reason at all. That's the most successful thing you could do in life. House is optional, some people working at google or whatever live in a closet on purpose. That's success.
>>34573431I inherited a ton of money and still can't afford a house. 32
>>34573431Not in this day and age
>>34573431>Am I really expected to have a house at 30? Because I just don't see it happening for at least another 5-10 years.if you weren't examining this question 5-10 years ago, then you weren't going to have one anyways without being a 6 figure earner. what kind of question is this?
>>34575401>If your parents own a home you will likely inherit this home when they dieBoomers in America have a habit of selling the house and squandering the money on cruises and wine tastings. Or one of them gets sick and the 3-day hospital stay costs as much as a house.
I own a 700sqft bungalow living by myself. It was cheap but I regret it since it's small. I compare myself all the time to people my age that have big, appealing houses. I'm a 34 year old virgin
I'm 34 and in the process of buying for the first time, getting the keys in 4 days if all goes well. I saved hard for 15 years and still had to move to a regional town where the average house price was only 5-6x my annual earnings not 15x like my home city. Still I'm going to be paying something like 60% of my monthly income on mortgage and house insurance. I'll never be able to afford a new car (shitbox life 4eva) probably won't be able to afford any large renovations or upgrades to the house. It's a 90sq/m wooden frame "transportable". The upsides are that it's pretty much off grid except for electricity, has anough garden space to grow 3 tons of food a year if I can put the work in. It's far enough away from the nearest big town that the hoons in loud cars won't come this far at night. But still close enough that I can be at work in 20 minutes.
