I want to cleanse my body of all the negative energy and I really don't feel like dealing with cooking right now. I'm just going to stay in bed for a while.
>>34578321Starving yourself for a week will make things much, much, much worse.
>>34578330This advice is trash (tried)
>>34578321No. Asceticism has its benefits, but it can't cleanse you of anything by itself. If you want to remove negativity, you have to introspect and improve yourself.
>>34578321Read this please, OP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Starvation_Experiment
>>34578321If your neurotransmitters are out of whack, the last thing in the world you need you need is to stop eating any of the amino acids and vitamins that the body needs to synthesise neurotransmitters. Please don't do this.
>>34578321eat more healthily; no need for fasting however, it might not be enough. I am depressed and I do eat healthily, because it mitigates the depression. But it is not enough. After all, I am depressed, because my life is going badly. Diet is not going to change it.So I'm mixed. Try eating more healthily, but do not expect to be "healed". You have to identify the causes, why you are depressed. Unironically, I recommend you go to therapy.
>>34578321No. You have to think of depression in two ways. Physiological and Psychological/Spritual.Physiological is from lack of right nutrition, minerals, exercise, sunlight.Psychological/Spiritual is either from a lack of social contact, lack of purpose, lack of daily system, or even taking the burden of the world on your shoulders and getting depressed when you're not able to save the world.Get your vitamins checked and look up CBT Therapy. And if you're a cute foid above 1i8, hmu If you're not a cute foid, then all the best to you in life and may you find love within and without and may you find purpose and within your purpose may you find people who cherish you and move along your path.
>>34578387I already go to therapy, eat a balanced diet and am at a healthy weight. I don't think it's a physiological problem. I've had intense episodes of anger, sadness and other strong emotions that have left me in a really bad place. I think there's something inside me that needs to change.
>>34578416What do you think the issue is? "Energies" in your body? Is this not physiological?
>>34578416Emotions come from thoughts, and thoughts come from belief. What you need is meditation. Analyze your anger and sadness, figure out what root belief is causing them, and then change that belief to one that's true. True beliefs never lead to negative emotions, only false beliefs can do that.
>>34578321Yes, do it. Just make sure to intake enough electrolytes to offset what you are losing through urination and defecation as well as to replace what you are diluting with water intake
>>34578483I left out an important detail: I'm currently going through a period of grief. I don't think this is really a matter of beliefs, because death is death. The sadness comes from losing someone, not from holding a false belief about the situation.>>34578490Yeah I'm buying a bunch of Gatorade on the first day so it'll be easier to stay on top of my electrolytes later on.
>>34578540No, that actually demonstrates the point perfectly. You can only feel bad about death if you believe death to be negative, or a loss. Especially when it's somebody else's death, because if your concern is that you feel bad that you lost them, then that means what you truly feel sorry about is yourself. Which, when viewed in the light of introspection, makes it obvious that your grief has taken on a selfish nature, and isn't out of love or concern for the other person, thus isn't legitimate grief, and is actually nothing more than self pity. Which isn't to say that people shouldn't have a healthy mourning period, but if what you're going through is extensive then it absolutely is a matter of sitting down and working out your errors in thought. If it's not a prolonged period of grief, then you just need to give it time. Fasting won't speed it up any.
>>34578574All I know is that it hurts so much.
>>34578602That's why introspection is so crucial, so that you can figure out why it hurts, if it's right for it to be hurting, and estimate how much longer it will hurt for. A physician would want to know all of that in regards to your body if there were something wrong with it, so as the physician of your own soul those are questions you ought to be able to ask and answer. And if it counts for anything, based on my own experiences I can confidently say that things will get better if you let them.
>>34578416>I don't think it's a physiological problem. It's not. But if you start starving yourself you will develop a brand new physiological problem on top of the psychological one. Starving will pour gasoline on the flames of your depression.
