I live in a relatively large city, ~1.5 million people, early 20's, got betrayed by alot of "friends" a few years ago, cant make any new ones, too nervous. I'm worried that i will run into these people and they will take it as an opportunity to humiliate me further in some way. am i being paranoid is moving worth it? I have no friends which tie me to this city and i dont particularly like it. People say its easy to avoid people you dont want to see as an adult but i've seen a few around and im worried they are following me. cops wont do shit, i have no evidence and honestly why would they care?

Do you live in a south korean high school as depicted in Weak Hero Class 1? If not, I wouldnt worry about it.

idk man some of these guys glow pretty hard. some unironic mk ultra shit. i dont think im being that paranoid, its reasonable enough. i just want to live a quiet life.

>often running into people you know
that's not possible unless you do it on purpose

checked.
exactly, which is why i say they glow hard. its incredibly suspicious. conspiracy/stalking laws exist for a reason, and car bugs exist. worth noting that cops also stare and follow me. its all incredibly odd. these "coincedences" all happened after the aforementioned betrayal.

a few of these characters went on to become police officers after highschool so its not out of the question they're using surveillance technology to track my movements.

I moved a lot when I was a young adult. What I'll tell you is: Where ever you go, there you are.

If you want to start over you can start over in a new place. It's really freeing to go somewhere and not know anyone and be able to set your own course without people bringing up the past. However, it sounds like what you really need is a new circle of friends and maybe some therapy/medication. I'm not saying that to meme on you, but to say that I recently went through a mental health issue where i felt like most of my friends and family were against me in some form or another. I've been in therapy with meds + working out for the better part of a year now and i realized it really was just all in my head. Good luck anon.

It is quite possible.

I live in a 2+ million people city, and finding people you know is relatively easy. The reason for that is because people tend to go to the same spots (a large shopping center, a popular restaurant, a large movie theatre, a popular park, etc., specially during the weekends or holidays.
That being said OP, that's a question I've also pondered a lot, myself. Personally, I'd move away if I could guarantee a life in another place. I imagine it'd give me some peace of mind knowing there's almost no risk of coming into contact with people I don't like from my past again.

Keep in mind that moving away can be difficult though. There's loneliness, feeling of not belonging, you have to learn your way around the new place, etc.
