I start a new job on Monday. Unfortunately, earlier tonight I was playing frisbee in the park with some friends and accidentally ran face-first into a pole. Not my proudest moment. One trip to urgent care later, I have a minor concussion and what the doctor described as “the start of a magnificent black eye.” I’m icing it now, but it looks like I’ve got a golf ball on my eyebrow that the doctor said was going to grow overnight. How should I handle this for my first day?

Cover it with an eyepatch. You will be known at your work as the eyepatch dude although you would have to keep it up for as long as you work there. Or you can wrap a bunch of bandages over your head and eye like an injured dude from an anime.
