Best option is to go become a tradesman of some kind (plummer, electrician, mechanic, carpenter, etc), but you'll need to get a license first. Get your license and get into a vocational school nearby asap. Community college could also be an option, though I don't think you can get in with just an 8th grade education. If worse comes to worst just settle for a retail job or factory work.

You should've seen the writing on the wall ages ago anon. If I was in your position I would've joined the army by the time I was 30. You'd get a pension, maybe dental, an adequate but not stellar salary, and some skills and veteran perks. Of course, you may die, but at that point I would make that trade.

You'd have to get a GED but you'd likely have to get a GED regardless. GED's not exactly hard though. I dropped out even sooner and the only thing I didn't get college credit on was math because I didn't know dick about algebra. Which is a shame because I think if I spent a couple weeks on KhanAcademy or whatever before taking it I could have avoided two semesters worth of remedial math. So, I'd really recommend refreshing on that.
