I would advise him at least once not to do it, to think about his wife and kids, to not throw it all away for some affair, that sort of thing.
If I were friends with his wife though, I don't think I'd be able to maintain the friendship for long. I don't think I would tell his wife, but I'd avoid contact with the dude.
