I've already posted on /adv/ before, but I'll do it again. I have recently left uni from a 7-week stint in a bachelors of physics, and before you call me a retard, I'll have you know physics has some of the worst employment rates out of any major. Furthermore, I haven't been able to get a job with my high-school diploma (low skill jobs obviously since I don't have a degree). I'm in the process of getting my driver's license, and I'm signed up for some vocational schooling soon. Should I go back to uni though (studying something else obviously, like finance)? Is uni still worth it?
Look at the little baby, he thinks his life is over.Your life has just begun, making mistakes is natural. That being said, you probably want to have an idea of what you actually want to do for uni. Make a list and shorten your options down.
>>34596218>Look at the little baby, he thinks his life is over.Yeah, well often I hear about how some poor motherfucker ruined his life by doing a degree that got him nowhere and is now he's in a bunch of debt. I'm not about that life if you couldn't tell, and I'm not planning to sow the seeds of such miserable failure.
>>34596222It’s smart to think early but you started this thread beating yourself up over it, just be proactive about it, some people don’t even go back to uni until later on in life. One year isn’t going to ruin your life
>>34596216>financeThat's worst than physics. Most quantum trading jobs hire physics majors, not "finance" guys.
>>34596216You will be fine anon. Your life just started.
>>34596216I joined uni for a bachelors of physics just like you, but I was 19. Did a whole year and started to talk with seniors about the academic world and how the job market was going, also became friends with a teacher that gave some advice on what my future career possibilities could be. I realized that physics would be too much effort for a low reward, so I joined engineering instead since it was easier and would at least help me land a job as an analyst, and it did. Thought I would regret leaving my dream behind but I can't imagine a better life other than what I have now if I stayed in physics.
>>34596216Yo idk shit about you or your situation but if you dropped out of uni at 18 that's like unregistering from a race before it even started. In my experience the years around age 20 are mental health hell for no real reason and it gets better once you leave your early 20s even though life objectively gets harder. So now just use the chance to actually think about what race you wanna register for because my biggest regret is not immediately dropping out of uni when I realized I hated my field
>>34596222it depends on which state youre in. if you live in Cali and low income you can qualify for big bucks on FAFSA and go to college for free essentially. theres no downside to getting a degree besides debt. you can always do a trade first and THEN go to college with real money.
