How to do things that i do not want to do? I want to hit the gym but i feel so lazy to do it, its not just the gym but many other things, is it bad willpower or is there something going on with me?
>>34597193Honestly man every human life is a constant struggle for energy and the people who do well are those who find their own strategy for how to have energy when it counts
>>34597217Dude i just rot at this point, no energy for anything not about survival
>>34597193you need NoFap
About the gym, 4-5 times it will be very uncomfortable, then the next 100 times you just have to force yourself a little bit (the trick is to go as frequently as possible) and then it becomes a routine and 3 years later you respect yourself more simply for seeing a muscular man in your bathroom mirror. STRONGLY recommend>>34597228Alright one more thing, you probably have no excuse not to go running. Something like 5 km should be enough for a start. And when I say running, I mean running, not jogging, but running as fast as you consistently can. Try to reach 5 km in 25 minutes first, and when you reach that milestone set bigger goals. Running won't necessarily give you energy but it will train your mind to resist the pain of existing and then you can think a little bit more about how to set goals and find energy
>>34597193Starving. Every single obstacle in life regarding the commitment can be overcome by starving. There are no expectations.Your brain simply allocates the outsourced energy into the wrong sectors due to constant overconsumption. If you cut the energy source completely, it will naturally fix the energy hierarchy, to be able to function without dying under the state of starvation.
>>34597279Intersting approach, but i am bulking>>34597262I have no place to run
>>34597319>I have no place to runDo Americans really? You don't need a "place to run". Watch some David Goggins motivational videos and put on your running shoes
>>34597193Bite sized goals, do something once a week, then twice a week and so on.For example if you are learning languages do 30 minutes one day, 20 another and so on, when you hit 0 just take a day off and restart the next day.You also need to study what you are learning, its all a constant struggle about challenge vs skills, no skills means everything is a challenge how you solve that? Go learn the fundamentals and repeat them. No challenge? Go somewhere different physically or psychologically (ideally both) get out there and do something different that could make you feel worried you might fail because the alternative is boredom and you don't want that.
>>34597344He doesn't want actual advice, this is just a slide whining thread. For every suggestion given, he'll think of a imbecile excuse to why he can't do x, y or z. What OP wants is just validation for being le lazy.
>>34597362Yeah I mean I can't cast the first stone when it comes to laziness but if I could tell anyone one single thing about willpower it's fucking go running because there's literally no good excuse not to do it. I skipped running today because I'm le sick and even that excuse makes me feel lazy as fuck
>>34597347Bite sized goals is a good idea, but I think that one must also have some positive reinforcement for accomplishing the goals. Otherwise, the time spent achieving those goals may be considered wasted time since nothing of value was accomplished at the end.I think that’s why things like working out is difficult for most people to commit to. Obviously there are benefits to long term exercise, but you have to wait a long time to see the results.
Because it's a boring chore nobody cares about and the gym route is probably the worst in terms of useful results. No, muscles that are barely visible with clothes on is not a useful result, even less so if you're short and ugly.
>>34597193That's not called wanting to do it. That's called *wishing* you wanted to do it.There's other ways to stay healthy besides gym. Take a walk. Buy weights and exercise at home. Try karate. Play baseball. Find a physical activity that you *do* want to do.Same with the other stuff.
>>34597347Ill try this method anon it sounds good
Make your goal to just drive to the gym. You are free to just drive straight back home again if you want. You'll probably find that once you arrive, you'll feel like you might as well do something while you are there. And if you are having a bad day, and just end up driving straight back home, you will feel good because you are at least doing something to keep the habit in place.I got this from the books "Mini Habits" and "Elastic Habits" (Same author)
