Has anyone here successfully dealt with derealization? It hits me in waves throughout the day, like a sudden glitch out that last a few seconds.
>>34606557yes i get it sometimes. it can be caused by spikes in anxiety or manic/hypomanic episodes. stuff like caffeine or drugs while in a hypomanic state can exacerbate it. if it's happening enough that it's affecting your life maybe consider going to see someone.
>>34606557It could be stress or dehydration or low blood sugar. You might be having mini seizures in your temporal lobe. It could also be something PTSD/trauma related, in which case you could try ketamine therapy. It fixed a lot of my DP/DR symptoms after a really horrific time in my life when everything fell apart.
>>34606557Maybe I feel some of those symptoms at times, but i wouldn't say I've ever had success dealing with or overcoming them. They way I typically describe it is its like viewing my perception through a fish bowl or something.
>>34606557Yeah. I just observed it and myself as it happened, and kept thinking and experiencing. Figured out what I wanted and started working on everything. Then it went away.
The only way I found to get over it is to stop thinking about it. I started focusing on my job and eventually realised it went away
