i like making coffee and yapping to people. i work at a coffee place making slightly above minimum wage. i dont care about anything else in life besides hanging out with friends and spending time with gf. why cant i just do this for the rest of my life? why does everything have to be so expensive? what can i do? start a business? even starting my own coffee place means i would probably have to take a loan. maybe some sort of side hustle like a website where I teach a skill?
>>34606742>why cant i just do this for the rest of my life? You can, nothing is really stopping you.>why does everything have to be so expensive?Live within your means lil bro.
>>34606742you're the perfect person to start a coffee shop
>>34606742>start a business?Open your own cafe
>>34606742are you a nepo babyif not, DO NOT START A BUSINESS. you will fail and it will feel like you are dying
>>34606742I don't know about starting a business given how fucked everything is these days, but I am happy that you clearly aren't a career-driven drone.I hope things work out for you in the future.
>>34606742starting a business is a decent risk, you don't want to do this half heartedly>teach a skill?like barrister training?
>>34607569dunno, i study languages in my spare time. i also know java and web dev. i could be a tutor or something.
>>34606742Desu life is a function that takes unimaginable amounts of suffering and fear as an input and gives homeopathic amounts of pride and happiness as an outputYou will learn to lower your expectations, everyone does eventually
>>34606742specializebecome better and better at bartending coffeethen you can get paid more working at a more specialized storeor become really good at sourcing beans or roasting etc.You can spend your ilfe inside a coffee shop and become better off than just minimum wage
>>34606742Do not under any circumstances become ambitious. It's a never ending treadmill of materialistic dissatisfaction that fast-forwards you to death. Consider that society wants you to be ambitious to exploit you ten-fold what you get out of it. Keep barristaing as long as possible and especially appreciate the easy access to women it entails.
>>34608454The problem is this, and you may disagree, but the problem is you become a fraction of your original ambition. This is why the best of the best are usually the least satisfied with where they are while those who think they're doing fine are actually and unironically falling behind. So you may end up like OP and find that there is no such thing as doing the minimum. You have to do the maximum you can and then look where that places you in the food chain. It’s not optional unless you're born in the top 1%
>why cant i just do this for the rest of my life?you can, if no kids involved. if some are planned, you will have to send them to a public school and they will have to share the same room and not be able to go on trips with their friends or afford going to sports clubs etc.
>>34609284not true. i see lots of people with kids working retail jobs. even with a high paying job you're very likely to be renting anyway so both parents have to work nowadays.
>>34606742>why cant i just do this for the rest of my life?I don't know. Why can't you? Watch this.
