Should I learn to code and learn linux as a HS dropout in 2026? I used to do some web development HTML CSS Javascript years ago and was fairly good at it but lost motivation. In this economy could I land a job or remote job and if so what exactly would I need to learn? What kind of IT jobs would be available regarding programming and linux? How would AI tie into all of this?

In this economy? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

For fun and interest yes. For a real job, no. Get a physical job where you are not at a computer, they continue to pay higher while coding salaries will only get worse and jobs less. You will be a step ahead of all the masses of unemployed coders and have your real job already.

>where does AI come into this
Linux is easy now bc AI can tell you all you need to know how to use it, as a beginner like Commands etc. Just check every command twice or ask it to be extra careful not to delete stuff on accident. Start with easy distros like mint, then go for Kbuntu or similar. Learn what packet mangers are and how to navigate with the Terminal. You won’t get a high paying job as coder, writing good code that’s better than AI slop takes decades of experience

No lol. To get a job you need a college degree. If you were one of the top 1% nerds who can get a job with just a portfolio, you'd know it by now.

>he doesn't know
