Is it unreasonable to allow empathy to discourage you from showing interest in women? I suffer from the normal fears of rejection and humiliation like most men, but I think the urge to not add to the endless amount of unwanted male attention is an even bigger wall between me and women.
>>
Yes, it's unreasonable. I say this as a woman

Elaborate.

You deserve a relationship, and you worrying about this makes you seem like a good guy who could make a woman very happy. Why deprive yourself and someone else of that on the off chance you might slightly bother someone? Besides, when I think of unwanted male attention, I think of catcallers, men who don't take no for an answer, ignore boundaries etc. But most women don't have a problem with receiving respectful, well-intentioned attention.

Not OP.
I've had it nailed into my head to never talk to a woman in public ever, and just leave them alone. So I don't even know what to believe anymore.

people suck, but they must also procreate

>like most men
No. You are not like most men. Most men don't give a shit about rejection and don't conjure up imaginary humiliation scenarios in order to make excuses to not talk to girls.
>>
>>34611121
Its not excuses. There is a reason why 90% of cold approaches fail.

>I think the urge to not add to the endless amount of unwanted male attention is an even bigger wall between me and women
sure. but most women want male attention. even if it's not their type of guy, it's flattering. what they don't want is guys not taking no for an answer and talking sophomorically about their big tits or whatever

if you're just kind of unappealing and giving compliments and asking women out and then ignoring them once they reject you, you're not contributing to the unwanted male attention

>>34609494
what kind of approach do you think works? By this I mean like is the intention to get your phone number or just say hello :/
>>
>>34609465
Without knowing you, this sounds like an excuse you're telling yourself so you don't have to approach women.

My dude, let's look at the flip side of what you're saying. You're potentially subjecting a girl to a ton of unwanted attention all because you're not willing to just show a lass your authentic self and build a real connection from there that leads to a relationship.

Human beings crave genuine relationships. That is a completely different ballpark from some guy who doesn't follow social cues and is swarmy.

Anon ... only an ugly woman would say that.
Lets face it. You're not going to be approaching ugly women though are you?
Attractive women are pestered constantly by men like you or in reality far more attractive.

>reality far more attractive.
im cute :(

>You deserve a relationship
Nobody deserves a relationship. Nobody is owed a relationship. Nobody is entitled to a relationship.
> most women don't have a problem with receiving respectful, well-intentioned attention.
But only if you are very attractive, and wealthy. If you are average then your attention is weird and creepy and likely to trigger calls to the police.

More like 99%

> even if it's not their type of guy
This, is patently untrue. A lie. A fib. A fabrication.
Women want attention from hot, attractive, high status, wealthy, powerful men.
Any other attention is unwanted.

>You will never get a girlfriend if you don't talk to girls
So be it
>>
>>34612926
I'm over 35 and 300 lbs and have plenty of college girls that like my attention, even though they don't want to go out with me. Your cynicism is the lie
>>

Kek. Americans dont know their own language

we really need to plug that /r9k/ leak and clean up the overspill. You have to go back.
>>
Another way of looking at this is that while women do have to deal with a lot of annoying attention from men, they have the advantage of never having to take risk to initiate with men as well. Both sexes have pros and cons in the department of approaching/showing interest, so its fair to somewhat disregard their problems since we don't really have a choice if we want to find a mate.
>>
>>34615680
men control their own destiny. that is the tradeoff for everything.
>>
>>34609465
bro women get a huge ego boost when you approach them in public (online is worthless)
not that it'll make them love you, but you'll definitely stroke their ego
