Situation: I made an agreement with the motorcycle owner (a Polish man) to buy the motorcycle without signing any paperwork, based only on a verbal agreement. I gradually paid him for the motorcycle, invested money in repairs, painting, and technical inspection, and planned to sell it. When I had already found a buyer, on the day of the sale I was taken to the police station, and the motorcycle was left with the owner/acquaintance. He then sold the motorcycle to the buyer himself and kept all the money, refusing to give it back. What do you think — who is right in this situation, and what would you do in my place?

I would contact the buyer, explain the situation to him while stressing that he is not at fault and gets to keep the motorcycle and everything, and sue the original owner in small claims court.

Further, I would collect and save every text I had with either the owner or the buyer and gather up all of the receipts for buying parts and whatnot for repairs

I mean you got scammed sure but you also basically begged to get scammed. It's more your fault this happened than anyone. I doubt you get any money back and likely would need to sue but not sure how it works where you are from. Next time just save cash, buy a motorcycle outright, always get the title and make sure it's real and the person signing it is the person on the title. Get their ID and match it to the title. Also get a bill of sale.

Why were you taken to the police station? Did he accuse you of stealing it or something?
Can't you show some text or voice recording of it, just to show that you are being falsely accused and that the owner scammed you?
World is full of scammers, man. Gotta be careful. Like the others said, always try to keep everything recorded and registered.

How do you expect to change owners for vehicles without the legal minutia? Check all your texts with the guy, it's your only way to alledge you paid for a service, but still it's all your fault and could end up losing anyway.

The police picked me up because they couldn’t catch me and stop me (I didn’t see that a cop was following me). Since he’s the owner, they contacted him, but he didn’t tell me anything about it. Also, the guy said he’s racist and doesn’t care where I go.
