Hi /adv/, I was forced to give statements and go to court against someone that did things to me but I'm struggling a lot with my memory, about the order in which things occurred, words that were said, the severity of things. I've been very confused because of all the stress and bad things happening and my memories of things are kind of blurry and hard to recount, and it feels like I say something and it's heard another way because I miss a big chunk of the lead up to something else. I'm scared I'm going to look like a liar, will I get in trouble? Or will the case just get dropped because I'm dumb and disorganized?
>>34612583If you have made statements in the past, you can probably ask to review what you said before going into court.
if you intentionally lie in court then yes that is against the law, obviously
>>34612583You should try to write stuff down, if you cannot remember specifically what was said you can say "something like... ". It is also okay to tell the court that you don't remember or that you're not sure
>>34612583Tell the lawyer. He will prepare you for court and guide you in court, and if he thinks you will be unreliable he may not call on you at all
>>34612583The court actually expects any individual witness to be slightly unreliable and to make some errors in details. If all witnesses are 100% in sync about every detail, like if someone gave them the same script, they would look less genuine and more sus.
Of course you post anime
